Location: Hybrid, Scotland
Hours: Full time or part time (28+ hours per week)
Contract: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Cover)
Looking for a role where you can influence decisions, shape financial performance and help drive continuous improvement? This is an opportunity to join a collaborative finance team where you'll combine technical expertise with commercial insight to support business leaders, improve reporting and make a real impact across the organisation.
Our Finance team plays a critical role in helping the business make informed decisions and achieve its strategic goals. We provide the financial insight, challenge and governance that enables teams to understand performance, identify opportunities and plan for the future.
We're looking for a Senior Management Accountant to join us on a 12-month maternity cover contract. You'll take ownership of management reporting, strengthen financial controls and partner with stakeholders across the business to turn financial information into meaningful insight and action.
You'll be joining a supportive and collaborative team where you'll have the opportunity to influence how finance operates, improve processes and help shape better ways of working.
What you'll be doing:
- Producing accurate and timely monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Leading month-end activities, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Analysing financial performance and providing clear insight into trends, risks and opportunities.
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities across the business.
- Partnering with Finance Business Partners and operational leaders to support decision-making and performance improvement.
- Identifying and implementing improvements to reporting, controls and finance processes.
- Supporting internal and external audit activity and maintaining strong financial governance.
- Coaching and supporting junior members of the finance team where appropriate.

We're looking for someone who enjoys getting into the detail while keeping sight of the bigger picture.
You'll likely bring:
- Progress towards, or completion of, a professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA or ACA.
- Experience in a management accounting, financial accounting or business-facing finance role.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including management reporting, reconciliations and month-end processes.
- The ability to analyse financial data and communicate insights in a clear and meaningful way.
- Experience working with budgets, forecasts and financial planning activities.
- Confidence building relationships with stakeholders across different teams and levels of the organisation.
- A continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to simplify processes and enhance controls.
- Strong Excel and financial systems skills.
