Trinity House Group are exclusively partnered with a long standing client to recruit a Senior Management Accountant role, sitting within a substantial West Midlands based business. The finance function supports a sizeable trading entity alongside group consolidation reporting, giving genuine exposure to both operational finance and group level accounting.

This role has a clearly defined route to Financial Controller, with the current post holder involved in shaping succession into that position as the group's reporting requirements evolve. For those with a more commercial leaning, there's equally a path into business partnering and commercial finance.

You'll take ownership of the monthly management accounts process, act as the go to person for operating cost analysis across a significant P&L, and work closely with functional directors on budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis. There's also meaningful group consolidation work, including intra-group accounting and indebtedness reporting, alongside budget and forecast balance sheet and cash flow production.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
