Temporary Management Accountant
Location: West London
Contract: Temporary (2 months +)
Hours: Full-time, 36 hours per week
We are working with a well-established education organisation in West London to recruit a Temporary Management Accountant to support its finance function.
This is a broad and hands-on role, offering responsibility for management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial controls, and month-end processes.
The role
Key responsibilities will include:
- Preparing monthly management accounts, forecasts, cash flow reports, and variance analysis
- Managing month-end processes, including reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and journals
- Supporting budget monitoring and longer-term financial planning
- Assisting with statutory and regulatory financial reporting
- Supporting internal and external audit processes
- Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting, and efficiencies
- Maintaining accurate financial data and supporting finance system improvements
- Providing financial analysis to support decision-making
- Assisting with procurement, contract, and risk management activities

About you
The successful candidate will be a proactive and detail-focused finance professional with:
- Previous experience preparing management accounts
- Strong month-end and financial reporting experience
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- The ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines
- Strong Excel and finance systems experience
- Experience within the education, public sector, or not-for-profit sector would be advantageous but is not essential
