We are delighted to be supporting a growing, commercially focused business with the appointment of a Senior Management Accountant.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or finalist accountant to join an established Finance function in a role offering broad exposure across management accounts, financial reporting, working capital, forecasting, and business partnering.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely financial information is produced while working closely with colleagues across the wider business.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing monthly management accounts, including balance sheet reconciliations, P&L analysis, and period-end ledger controls.
- Taking ownership of monthly Group reporting and consolidation requirements.
- Ensuring balance sheet reconciliations are accurate, complete, and appropriately reviewed.
- Supporting the preparation of budgets and forecasts, working closely with budget holders to understand financial requirements and proposals.
- Acting as a key point of contact between Finance and the wider business on departmental P&Ls, cost centres, and overhead queries.
- Managing the procurement and cost-control process, working with budget holders to identify opportunities to improve profitability.
- Preparing short-term cash flow forecasts and supporting effective working capital management.
- Supporting the weekly supplier payment process and monitoring cash requirements.
- Managing operational foreign exchange requirements alongside the Financial Controller.
- Monitoring daily cash and FX movements and providing accurate financial reporting.
- Supporting the statutory audit process, including audit testing, sampling, and coordination of information.
- Assisting with the preparation of the Extended Trial Balance and Statutory Accounts.
- Supporting VAT, customs, and other HMRC compliance activities where required.
- Working with the Financial Controller to improve Accounts Payable processes and supervising a Purchase Ledger Assistant.
- Providing coaching and support to more junior members of the Finance team.
- Providing flexibility and support across the wider Finance function as required.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Management Accountant who is commercially minded, analytical, and confident working across a broad Finance remit.
You will ideally have:
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification, or be a Finalist.
- Strong experience within management accounting and financial reporting.
- Advanced Excel skills and a good working knowledge of accounting systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- A sound understanding of financial statements and accounting treatments.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet tight reporting deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with stakeholders outside of Finance.
- Ideally, some experience of supervising, managing, or coaching junior Finance team members, although not essential.
