Senior Management Accountant - Food Manufacturing

Blackburn | Hybrid | £60,000 | Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm

You'll take ownership of the management accounting process while acting as a key finance partner to the wider food manufacturing operation.

That means getting into the detail of costing, waste, yield, labour, stock and profitability — then turning that information into something the business can actually use.

The role

You'll be working closely with operations, production and senior stakeholders — challenging performance, understanding costs, improving efficiency and helping the business make better decisions.

  • Leading the month-end process and delivering accurate management accounts
  • Providing financial insight and challenge to operational and site teams
  • Analysing production costs, labour, materials, overheads, waste and yield
  • Managing and developing standard costing models
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting and Capex decisions
  • Identifying cost-saving and continuous improvement opportunities
  • Supporting inventory valuation and stock controls
  • Improving financial processes, reporting and systems
  • Supporting statutory reporting and audit activity

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
