About Super Rare Games

Super Rare Games is an independent, self-funding video games publisher delivering physical and digital titles to a passionate global audience.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced, technically strong Senior Management Accountant who is already operating with a high degree of autonomy and is ready to take the next step into a broader Finance Controller role.

The role is designed to provide a structured progression from Senior Management Accountant to Finance Controller over an initial period of approximately 6–12 months.

The successful candidate will initially take ownership of the core management accounting function, working alongside an experienced Finance Controller and a Junior Management Accountant. As their knowledge of the business and finance function develops, the existing Finance Controller will progressively delegate additional responsibilities to them as part of a planned handover.

The intention is that the successful candidate will operate in a hybrid Senior Management Accountant / Finance Controller capacity during the transition period, taking on progressively more of the current Finance Controller's responsibilities while continuing to retain ownership of the management accounting function.

Subject to demonstrated capability and a successful handover, the individual will progress into the Finance Controller role, with the existing Finance Controller providing appropriate support and oversight during the transition.

Key Responsibilities

Month-end & financial accounting

  • Own the month-end close process and ensure accounts are complete and accurate by:
    • Overseeing and reviewing the work of the Accounts Payable Assistant and Junior Management Accountant.
    • Reviewing the general ledger and identifying errors, anomalies and areas requiring investigation.
    • Preparing and posting journals, accruals, prepayments and provisions.
    • Performing detailed balance sheet reconciliations and investigating variances.
    • Working with Departmental Leads to maintain accurate shared cost tracking information.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
