IT Transformation Consulting – Senior Manager / Director
Salary: £90,000–£130,000, depending on experience and appointment level
83zero is partnering with an international management consultancy to appoint an IT Transformation professional at Senior Manager or Director level.
This opportunity suits an experienced consultant who can help senior technology leaders shape the future of their IT function, design effective operating models and translate strategic recommendations into practical change.
Consulting experience and proven IT operating model design experience are essential.
The opportunity
You will work with CIOs, CTOs and senior business stakeholders to improve how technology functions are organised, governed and aligned to business priorities.
Leading client engagements from assessment through to transformation planning and implementation support, you will combine analytical rigour with the judgement and communication skills needed to influence senior leaders.
Key responsibilities
- Lead IT transformation engagements, taking responsibility for scope, delivery plans, resources and the quality of client outcomes.
- Assess existing IT operating models, identifying gaps in capabilities, organisational structures, governance, processes and ways of working.
- Design future IT operating models covering roles and responsibilities, decision rights, service delivery, sourcing and performance management.
- Develop IT strategies, capability roadmaps and prioritised transformation plans aligned to business objectives.
- Facilitate workshops with technology and business leaders, building agreement on recommendations and the changes required.
- Develop business cases and define measures to track improvements in cost, service quality and business value.
- Support clients through implementation, addressing organisational change, stakeholder engagement and adoption.
- Build trusted client relationships and identify opportunities for further consulting support.
- Lead and develop consulting teams, ensuring clear direction and consistently high standards.

At Director level, you will also take greater responsibility for developing senior client relationships, shaping proposals and contributing to practice growth.
Essential experience
- A strong track record within management or technology consulting, delivering advisory and transformation engagements for external clients.
- Demonstrable experience designing IT operating models, with the ability to explain your approach, the design decisions made and the resulting client outcomes.
- Experience leading IT transformation projects or substantial workstreams within complex organisations.
- A sound understanding of IT strategy, governance, organisational design, service delivery and sourcing.
- The ability to turn complex analysis into clear, commercially credible recommendations.
- Confidence presenting to and influencing CIOs, CTOs and other senior stakeholders.
- Experience managing project delivery, client expectations and consulting teams.
