Eight Club is a private members’ club in the heart of the City of London, providing members with a combination of hospitality, dining, meeting and event spaces in a professional and welcoming environment.
Eight Club Bank is a key part of the Eight Club group, serving a professional City membership throughout the working week. The club offers members a high-quality environment for meetings, dining, networking, working and socialising.
Role
We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Senior Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of Eight Club Bank.
The Senior Manager will have overall responsibility for the smooth, efficient and profitable running of the club from Monday to Friday, ensuring consistently high standards across member experience, hospitality, food and beverage, events, facilities and team performance.
This is a highly visible, hands-on role. The successful candidate will be regularly present on the floor, engaging with members, supporting the team and ensuring that operational standards are maintained throughout the day.
You will be responsible for creating a strong service culture, developing your team and ensuring that Eight Club Bank consistently delivers the level of experience expected by our members.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, motivate and develop the Bank team, creating a positive and accountable working culture.
- Set clear expectations around service, presentation, standards and performance.
- Manage rotas, staffing levels and deployment to ensure the operation is appropriately resourced.
- Conduct regular team briefings, one-to-ones and performance reviews.
- Identify training needs and work with the wider Eight Club team to deliver appropriate training.
- Ensure all team members understand and consistently follow Eight Club procedures.
- Manage attendance, performance and conduct issues in partnership with HR and senior management.
- Lead by example and remain highly visible and engaged with the team and members.

Member Experience
- Take ownership of the overall member experience at Eight Club Bank.
- Build strong relationships with members and understand their expectations and requirements.
- Be visible and accessible to members throughout the day.
- Resolve member concerns promptly, professionally and fairly.
- Ensure feedback is captured and acted upon.
- Identify opportunities to improve the member journey and encourage member engagement.
- Work closely with the Membership team to support retention and strengthen member relationships.
Food & Beverage
- Oversee the daily operation of the lounge and bar.
- Ensure consistently high standards of food, beverage and service.
- Work closely with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Monitor stock levels, wastage, purchasing and gross profit performance.
- Ensure menus are delivered consistently and that availability is well managed.
- Review sales performance and identify opportunities to improve revenue.
- Ensure all food and beverage procedures, allergen controls and hygiene standards are followed.
Commercial & Financial Management
- Take ownership of the club's daily commercial performance.
- Monitor revenue, labour costs, food and beverage margins and other key operating costs.
- Review weekly financial performance and identify corrective actions where required.
- Control labour deployment and ensure staffing is aligned with business levels.
- Minimise wastage and unnecessary expenditure without compromising member experience.
- Support initiatives designed to increase revenue, member spend and event income.

Operations & Standards
- Ensure the club is fully operational, well presented and ready for members each day.
- Maintain consistently high standards across the building, including front-of-house areas, meeting rooms, bar.
- Work closely with Facilities and suppliers to resolve operational issues quickly.
- Ensure opening and closing procedures are followed correctly.
- Monitor equipment, maintenance and building issues and escalate where appropriate.
- Ensure all operational checklists and procedures are completed.
Compliance, Health & Safety
- Ensure the club operates in accordance with all relevant licensing, health and safety, food safety and company requirements.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure required checks are completed.
- Ensure the team understands emergency procedures and their responsibilities.
- Work with senior management to address any identified risks or compliance issues.
- Maintain a safe environment for members, visitors and employees.
Communication & Collaboration
- Work closely with the Operations Director, Managing Director and other Managers to ensure consistency across Eight Club.
- Maintain effective communication with Membership, Events, Finance, HR, Marketing.
- Attend relevant management meetings and contribute to wider operational planning.
- Share best practice and support the wider Eight Club team where required.
