ABAS Manager
We have an opportunity for an Accounts Manager or Senior Manager to join any of our offices in the North West (Manchester, Liverpool, Preston or Lancaster).
We are growing which means there is lots of opportunity to develop and progress with the firm.
As well as running and maintaining a client portfolio, we are looking for someone with a strong skillset in financial reporting, thriving on technical queries and advising clients accordingly.

Your responsibilities
- Portfolio Management: plan, control and review of client work to ensure that jobs are completed efficiently and effectively as possible
- Team Management: day to day line management, allocation of work, identifying development needs and completing staff reviews and feedback
- Business Development: advisory and ad hoc work, identifying opportunities to offer additional services to clients, identifying new clients through networking and client referrals and coaching team members to do the same

Qualifications and skills
- Fully qualified ACA/ACCA with a minimum of 2 years post qualified experience in external accounts and general practice
- Up to date technical knowledge of Auditing and Financial Reporting Standards.
- Experience working with OMBs and larger corporates covering a range of industries
- Competent user of MS Excel & Word. Experience of Xero, Quickbooks, Sage, CaseWare and tax software preferred
- Is technically competent and compliant and gives due consideration to risk.
- Demonstrable ability to motivate, delegate effectively and develop the team
- Understands ICAEW and /or ACCA exam structure, work experience and ethics training requirements
- Client focus and able to think commercially – able to seek out opportunities within the portfolio with a good awareness of the firm’s services and product offering
- Generates ideas for clients and for the firm, striving for improvements and efficiencies
- Plans to make effective use of time and consistently meets deadlines
- Is able to undertake internal projects, communicate findings and see through to completion
- Builds effective relationships internally across departments and externally
- Project a positive image of MHA
