Senior Manager- UKI Applications
Reporting to: VP, Technology UK&I and dotted line reporting to Head of Products, Partnerships & Innovation
Location: Heathrow
Shift Pattern: 40 hours per week. Monday to Friday (Hybrid - 3 days in the office/ 2 days remote)

Role Overview and Purpose
The Senior Manager- UKI Applications is responsible for leading the operational management, governance, continual improvement and strategic development of the organisation's portfolio of enterprise operational applications across the UK & Ireland.
The role ensures that enterprise technology applications remain secure, reliable, scalable and aligned with operational and business requirements throughout their lifecycle, delivering effective technology capabilities that enable frontline operations and support functions.
Working in partnership with business leaders, technology teams, suppliers and external partners, the role provides leadership across UK&I application services, ensuring systems are effectively governed, continuously improved and capable of supporting the organisation's evolving operational needs.
The role also provides UK&I application expertise throughout the evaluation, design, implementation, transition and optimisation of technology solutions, ensuring new and enhanced capabilities are operationally supportable, scalable and aligned with business objectives.
As the leader of the UK&I Applications function, the role is accountable for developing a high-performing team, establishing operational standards and ensuring UK&I applications consistently deliver value to the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
UK&I Application Leadership
- Lead the UK&I Applications function, providing strategic and operational leadership for the organisation's portfolio of operational applications.
- Establish the vision, operating model and standards for the UK&I Applications function, ensuring services remain aligned with business priorities and Technology objectives.
- Develop and maintain the UK&I application portfolio, ensuring applications remain effective, scalable, supportable and fit for purpose.
- Provide leadership across the application lifecycle, ensuring operational readiness, resilience and continual improvement are embedded into all services.
- Champion best practice in UK&I application management, service delivery and operational excellence.
Operational Technology Service Ownership
- Own the operational performance, administration, configuration, support and continual improvement of UK&I applications within the function's portfolio.
- Ensure UK&I applications achieve agreed service levels, operational performance, availability and user satisfaction.
- Establish and maintain effective operational processes covering application support, change management, release management, configuration management and service transition.
- Ensure UK&I applications remain resilient, maintainable and capable of supporting business growth and operational change.
- Lead the ongoing review of application performance, identifying opportunities to improve service quality, operational efficiency and user experience.

Business Partnership & Technology Enablement
- Build trusted relationships across operational and support functions, acting as the primary Technology partner for operational applications.
- Translate business challenges and operational requirements into practical, scalable technology solutions.
- Provide UK&I application expertise throughout business initiatives, ensuring operational considerations are incorporated into solution design, implementation and transition activities.
- Support contract mobilisation and demobilisation activities by ensuring UK&I applications are configured, deployed and supported to meet operational requirements.
- Contribute to technology decision-making through practical operational insight, UK&I application expertise and knowledge of business processes.
- Maintain an understanding of operational capabilities, emerging business requirements and technology opportunities to support continual improvement.
UK&I Application Governance
- Establish and maintain governance, standards, processes and operating practices for UK&I applications within the function's portfolio.
- Ensure UK&I applications are appropriately documented, configured and managed in accordance with Technology standards and organisational policies.
- Promote consistency in system configuration, operational processes, documentation, testing and service transition.
- Ensure UK&I applications support regulatory, contractual, security and compliance requirements.
- Maintain oversight of application ownership, support models, operational dependencies and key business processes.
Continuous Improvement & Service Optimisation
- Drive continual improvement across UK&I applications, identifying opportunities to simplify processes, improve user experience and increase operational efficiency.
- Develop and maintain structured processes for managing application enhancements, operational improvements and technology requests.
- Promote effective adoption of UK&I applications through appropriate guidance, documentation, knowledge sharing and stakeholder engagement.
- Support the evaluation of new capabilities, enhancements and technologies, ensuring operational impact, supportability and long-term sustainability are fully considered.
- Encourage the effective use of automation, low-code technologies and system capabilities to reduce manual effort and improve operational performance.
Supplier & Vendor Management
- Develop effective relationships with software suppliers, implementation partners and service providers.
- Monitor supplier performance against agreed service levels and contractual commitments.
- Support commercial discussions relating to UK&I applications, including licensing, renewals, service improvements and future capability development.
- Ensure suppliers contribute effectively to operational performance and continual improvement.
People Leadership
- Lead, develop and inspire the UK&I Applications team, creating a collaborative, high-performing and customer-focused culture.
- Define clear roles, responsibilities and development pathways across the function.
- Build organisational capability in UK&I application management, business analysis, systems administration and operational support.
- Promote knowledge sharing, continuous learning and professional development across the team.
- Ensure appropriate resourcing, prioritisation and workload management to support business objectives.

Requirements
Essential
- Significant leadership experience within Technology, UK&I Applications, Business Systems or Operational Systems.
- Experience managing enterprise-scale business applications supporting operational environments.
- Strong understanding of UK&I application lifecycle management, operational support and continual improvement.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary technology teams.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across operational and executive audiences.
- Experience managing third-party software suppliers and technology partners.
- Strong understanding of service management principles and operational governance.
- Experience delivering technology-enabled business improvements.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance operational requirements, business priorities and technology capability.
- Excellent communication, leadership and decision-making skills.
Desirable
- Experience within Facilities Management, Aviation or operational service industries.
- Experience with workforce management, enterprise asset management, CAFM, CMMS or similar enterprise operational platforms.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform and automation technologies.
- Experience supporting enterprise technology implementations and operational transitions.
- Understanding of system integrations, APIs and enterprise data flows.
- Familiarity with ITIL or equivalent service management frameworks.
