Senior Manager, Automation & Controls

Role Summary

As Senior Manager, Automation & Controls, you will provide specialist controls expertise across STACK Infrastructure's Data Centre construction portfolio, supporting the design, coordination, commissioning, and delivery of BMS, EPMS, and associated network infrastructure. Working closely with Construction, Commissioning, BMS, IT, server teams, consultants, general contractors, and controls vendors, you will provide technical oversight throughout project delivery, helping ensure controls systems are coordinated, tested, and implemented in line with STACK standards. The role will cover multiple project locations rather than a single site. Regular presence at construction sites will be required for key testing, reviews, and meetings, so flexibility to travel between locations as project needs dictate is essential.

This role can be based from Milan, Oslo, Geneva, and Zurich.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide controls SME support to Construction and other project delivery functions.
  • Liaise with STACK BMS and IT teams to facilitate switch and firewall configuration for BMS/EPMS.
  • Liaise with STACK server teams to facilitate virtual machine (VM) configuration for BMS/EPMS.
  • Undertake high-level reviews of key controls-related design deliverables.
  • Assist with the coordination and oversight of SFAT activities and review commissioning test scripts related to controls.
  • Maintain a regular site presence during major testing activities, providing an additional layer of scrutiny of BMS/EPMS systems and SME support to the Commissioning team.
  • Oversee the close-out of BMS, EPMS, and network-related items within the commissioning IRL.
  • Engage with the Commissioning Agent, general contractor, and vendors to advise on BMS, EPMS, and network infrastructure commissioning programmes.
  • Contribute to the development and management of controls design standards and oversee their implementation across projects.
  • Capture project feedback and lessons learned and feed appropriate updates into controls standards.
  • Attend sites as required to conduct progress walks, participate in key meetings, and observe controls vendor site acceptance testing.
  • Support controls vendors in resolving potential blockers and support vendors with BMS, EPMS, and network coordination as required.
  • Support the onboarding of controls vendors in line with STACK frameworks.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
