Senior Manager – Broker Oversight
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Manager – Broker Oversight to lead the delivery of broker oversight and assurance programme, helping maintain strong governance, manage risk and, most importantly, deliver consistently good outcomes for our customers.
This is a senior and highly visible role where you’ll work closely with brokers, distribution partners and senior stakeholders across the business. You’ll lead risk-based oversight activity, identify emerging issues and provide the insight and challenge needed to drive meaningful improvements.
Responsibilities
You’ll take ownership of a diverse portfolio of broker oversight reviews, determining their scope and ensuring activity is prioritised according to risk.
- Working directly with brokers and distribution partners, you’ll coordinate oversight requirements and onsite reviews where required, assess supporting evidence and documentation, and communicate findings clearly and constructively.
- Lead the delivery of an effective, risk-based broker oversight and assurance programme.
- Assess broker controls, governance arrangements and operational practices.
- Identify customer, conduct, operational and regulatory risks and ensure significant issues are appropriately escalated.
- Monitor and challenge broker performance to help ensure fair and consistent customer outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with Broker Management to drive remediation and ensure identified actions reach sustainable closure.
- Produce high-quality governance reporting and executive-level insight on findings, emerging risks and progress.
- Provide independent and constructive challenge where broker practices could result in customer detriment or regulatory non-compliance.
- Ensure oversight activity considers vulnerable customers and supports Consumer Duty obligations.
- Drive continuous improvement across broker performance, customer outcomes and the wider oversight function.
- Lead, coach and develop Oversight Analysts and Managers, building capability in assurance methodologies and oversight best practice.
- Promote a high-performance culture centred around customer outcomes, accountability and effective risk management.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
