JOB DESCRIPTION

Connect to your Industry

Are you passionate about helping organisations fundamentally rethink how they operate?

Do you understand how strategy becomes an operating model, how operating models become end-to-end processes, and how changes in one part of an organisation affect the wider enterprise?

Can you challenge established assumptions and help senior leaders imagine a different future, rather than simply improve the organisation they already have?

Do you understand how AI, data, automation and core technology platforms are changing the choices organisations can make about work, decision-making, accountability and organisational structure?

If so, this role offers the opportunity to help leading Consumer organisations redesign how they operate for the future.

Connect to your career at Deloitte

Deloitte drives progress. Using our vast range of expertise, we help our clients' become leaders wherever they choose to compete. To do this, we invest in outstanding people. We build teams of future thinkers, with diverse talents and backgrounds, and empower them all to reach for and achieve more.

What brings us all together at Deloitte? It’s how we approach the thousands of decisions we make every day. How we behave, our beliefs and our attitudes. In other words: our values. Whatever we do, wherever we are in the world, we lead the way, serve with integrity, take care of each other, foster inclusion, and collaborate for measurable impact. These five shared values lead every decision we make and action we take, guiding us to deliver impact how and where it matters most.

Connect to your opportunity

In Operations & Industry Domain Solutions, we lead with industry knowledge and combine business design, process architecture and transformation expertise with data, AI and technology fluency. Our ambition is to help Consumer organisations redesign how they operate in the agentic era, moving beyond incremental process improvement or adding AI to existing ways of working.

This is not a traditional Enterprise Architect or Solution Architect role. You will work alongside enterprise, solution, data, AI and platform architects, but your starting point and primary focus will be the design of the business: its purpose, capabilities, value streams, processes, organisation, governance, decisions, data and ways of working.

As a Business Architect, you will hold business vision and technology architecture together. You will help clients design future operating models from first principles, understand enterprise-wide impacts, and translate ambitious designs into practical transformation roadmaps.

Your role will be centered on process-led business re-design for the Agentic Era. Your role can change based on specific client request, and market forces, but will cover:

Transformation strategy, value and delivery

  • Shape transformation strategies, with a clear case for change that sequence changes across process, organisation, data, technology and people, with measurable outcomes
  • Prioritise initiatives based on value, feasibility, dependencies and business readiness.

Enterprise and AI-enabled operating model redesign

  • Using AI as a design lens rather than treating it as a set of isolated use cases.
  • Explore how AI and agentic technologies could change how work is performed, decisions are made and services are delivered, including the appropriate division of work between people, AI agents, automation and core technology platforms. Identify opportunities where AI can create measurable value while supporting its responsible and trustworthy use.
  • Work with AI, data, engineering and technology specialists from the outset to turn business redesign concepts (broader than use cases) into coherent, practical and feasible solutions.
  • Manage Deloitte and client teams, to design and deliver and ensure alignment between business and technology

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Capability & Process Architecture

  • Define and apply industry specific capability models, value streams, process taxonomies and use to drive end to end transformation
  • Gather and analyse business requirements, identify where processes should be simplified, standardised, eliminated, automated or fundamentally redesigned, and define future-state processes
  • Build client business architecture maturity including set up of business architecture / process tooling (either Deloitte specific tools or Signavio, IgraphX etc.)

Technology fluency

  • Understand how core platforms, including ERP, CRM, data platforms and workflow technologies, enable or constrain end-to-end processes.
  • Explain where business processes intersect with systems, data, integrations and technology ownership, and where they extend beyond the core platform.
  • Challenge technology-led decisions that do not support the intended operating model or business outcomes.
  • Work with Deloitte Enterprise Architects to help clients distinguish genuinely differentiating requirements from those that should align to platform standards.

Connect to your skills and professional experience

We are looking for people who embrace change, bring deep practical experience and can operate credibly at both strategic and delivery levels. Although not essential, in addition to the core skills above, we would welcome any of the desirable experience below:

  • Proven depth of knowledge of the core operations and market trends in one or more of the following industries: Retail, Consumer Packaged Goods, Transport and Logistics, Airlines, Legal
  • Experience of use of AI/ Automation to accelerate key operational processes and/or optimise ways of working in one of the above sectors
  • Experience working across a variety of tools such as Excel, Powerpoint, Jira, Data Visualisation (e.g. PowerBi / Tableau) and Process Modelling tools (e.g. Signavio)
  • Experience of a mid-level operational role in at least one Consumer organisation (as an employee or as a consultant/contractor) demonstrating knowledge of the overall operating model of that business
  • Experience developing business cases, or case for change
  • Experience of managing a small team or workstream incl. management of risks, issues and dependencies to ensure projects are delivered smoothly

This role is unlikely to be the right fit if your experience is primarily as an Enterprise Architect without substantive business re-design or process-design experience.

Personal independence

Regulation and controls are standard practice in our industry and Deloitte is no exception. These controls provide important legal protection for both you and the firm. We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints (e.g., in relation to any financial interests and employment relationships). This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm, and also prohibitions on certain employment relationships (e.g., you are not permitted to hold a secondary employment role with SEC audit clients of the firm whilst being employed by the firm). The recruitment team will provide further detail as you progress through the recruitment process or you can contact the Independence team upon request.
