- Ensure submissions are complete, timely, accurate and supported by a clear audit trail of judgements, limitations, approvals and evidence.
- Translate stress-testing and capital outputs into clear, decision-useful insight for senior decision-makers.
- Present analysis and recommendations at senior forums, including Sub-ALCO and FMM.

- Work collaboratively across Treasury, Risk, Finance, the UK business and Group to deliver high-quality outcomes through influence.
- Represent HSBC UK in Group-wide working groups and contribute to the development of consistent stress-testing and capital-management approaches.
- Support gross and net capital plans, credible management actions in partnership with the RRP Office, and ICAAP/Internal Capital Planning Buffer governance.
- Own and continuously improve the control framework, including process flows, control points, hand-offs, operational risk assessments and control evidence.
- Constructively challenge outputs, assumptions and delivery approaches while maintaining strong and productive stakeholder relationships.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
