JOB DESCRIPTION

Connect to your Industry

Do you want to be at the heart of some of the biggest and most ambitious Consumer AI & Data transformation projects? Consumer businesses operate in an environment where margins are tight, brand is critical, and understanding and connecting with customers is increasingly complex across omnichannel routes to sales and loyalty. You will help clients make intelligent, future-proof decisions by establishing consistent, managed and governed enterprise data models that connect product, customer and commercial information across the value chain.

Your expertise will help Consumer clients improve decision-making, operational efficiency and customer relevance while protecting brand value and enabling sustainable growth.

Connect to your career at Deloitte

Deloitte drives progress. Using our vast range of expertise, we help our clients' become leaders wherever they choose to compete. To do this, we invest in outstanding people. We build teams of future thinkers, with diverse talents and backgrounds, and empower them all to reach for and achieve more.

What brings us all together at Deloitte? It’s how we approach the thousands of decisions we make every day. How we behave, our beliefs and our attitudes. In other words: our values. Whatever we do, wherever we are in the world, we lead the way, serve with integrity, take care of each other, foster inclusion, and collaborate for measurable impact. These five shared values lead every decision we make and action we take, guiding us to deliver impact how and where it matters most.

Connect to your opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager specialising in Consumer data architecture, data governance and data management within Deloitte’s Engineering, AI & Data service offering.

You will work with Consumer clients, third parties and Deloitte teams across the Firm. You will help retail and consumer products organisations use a consistent, managed and governed enterprise data model to respond to tight margins, protect and strengthen their brands, and understand and connect with customers across complex omnichannel sales and loyalty journeys. This is a business-led architecture and governance role focused on conceptual and logical design rather than physical implementation.

Your role

As a Senior Manager in Consumer Data Architecture, Governance & Management, you will lead client engagements that define how product and customer data is modelled, owned, governed, managed and used across the Consumer value chain. In this role, you may be expected to:

  • Lead engagements with senior Consumer business and technology stakeholders to define enterprise data strategies, conceptual and logical data models, and pragmatic transformation roadmaps aligned to commercial priorities.
  • Shape consistent enterprise models for product and customer data, defining business entities, relationships, attributes, lifecycle states, ownership and stewardship without moving into physical data model implementation.
  • Assess how product data is created, enriched, governed, mastered and consumed across the CPG and Retail value chain, including sourcing, merchandising, supply chain, stores, ecommerce, marketplaces, marketing, loyalty, service and regulatory reporting.
  • Design and mobilise data governance and data management operating models, including decision rights, roles, forums, policies, standards, data quality controls, mastership principles and accountable ways of working.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams, assure high-quality client deliverables, develop trusted senior relationships, and translate complex data issues into clear business choices and measurable outcomes.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Significant experience in a senior data architecture, data governance or data management role within Consumer businesses or Consumer-focused consulting engagements.
  • Mandatory experience across both product and customer data domains, including how consistent, trusted data supports margin management, brand, customer understanding, omnichannel sales and loyalty.
  • Strong understanding of the end-to-end product data lifecycle across CPG and Retail, from product creation and sourcing through supply chain, merchandising, commerce, fulfilment, customer engagement and retirement.
  • Practical knowledge of product identification and industry standards, including product identifiers, GTIN, GS1 standards, barcodes and RFID, and how these enable traceability, interoperability and trusted product information.
  • Proven experience developing enterprise conceptual and logical data models, including entities, relationships, key attributes, lifecycle states and business definitions; physical data modelling and technical implementation are not required.
  • Experience leading client-facing teams and influencing senior business and technology stakeholders, with strong consulting, communication and commercial skills.

PROFESSIONAL PROFICIENCY

  • Demonstrated success defining and applying enterprise data architecture principles and consistent data models to solve complex Consumer business problems.
  • Deep experience of data governance and data management frameworks and associated operating models, including ownership, stewardship, governance forums, decision rights, policies and standards.
  • Ability to define product and customer mastership, sources of truth, critical data elements, data quality rules, lineage and controls across business processes and systems.
  • Experience assessing current-to-target data landscapes, mapping end-to-end product data flows and translating findings into prioritised roadmaps, transition states and investment choices.
  • Strong knowledge of Consumer business capabilities and value chains across Retail and CPG, and the commercial implications of fragmented or poor-quality product and customer data.
  • Ability to connect data architecture and governance outcomes to analytics, AI, personalisation, customer experience, digital commerce, operational efficiency and regulatory needs.
  • Experience with master data management approaches is relevant; hands-on experience of MDM tools or data governance platforms is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to make complex data concepts accessible to senior business audiences and to lead multidisciplinary delivery teams.
