BearingPoint is one of Europe’s leading independent, partner led technology services and business consulting organisations and a highly regarded strategic partner for our clients.

This is a great opportunity to join BearingPoint at a pivotal moment of growth and investment and be part of a community of like-minded consultants. We are proud to operate as a “boutique style” cohort of inspired and passionate experts in our field with focus on innovation, collaboration, and customer success.

We are currently seeking a commercially driven Senior Manager to accelerate growth in the Consumer Goods, Retail & Lifestyle practice, with a primary focus on building pipeline, converting opportunities, and strengthening our position in CPG, Lifestyle and Retail clients.

This is a business development-led role (60–70%), complemented by selective delivery leadership to ensure credibility and deepen client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Growth (60–70%)

  • Create and shape new opportunities across Consumer Goods, Retail and Lifestyle clients — with a clear bias towards work that can convert into a healthy pipeline of engagements for the practice
  • Use their own network and relationships to open doors, build trust and create a credible pipeline
  • Lead strong, client-relevant proposals and help move opportunities from positive ‘lead’ conversations into signed contracted work
  • Shape practical propositions that respond to real market needs — for example operating model, transformation and commercial excellence
  • Work closely with Directors and Partners, including the CRL director, to turn priority accounts across the CRL space into sustainable revenue and longer-term relationships
  • Contribute to thought leadership, campaigns and client events in a way that feels relevant

Client Leadership & Delivery (30–40%)

  • Lead targeted engagements or workstreams where they can bring real senior value — setting direction, keeping momentum and ensuring the work lands well with the client
  • Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders by being practical, credible and close enough to understand what really matters to them
  • Deliver work to a high standard, with clear outcomes, strong client engagement and an eye on where we can create further value
  • Use delivery as a platform for growth — spotting extension opportunities early, shaping them well and helping convert them into follow-on work

CPG Market Expansion Focus

  • Help us properly open up and grow Consumer Goods / CPG accounts where we know there is opportunity, but where our current presence is still too limited
  • Bring real relationships, credible entry points and enough market relevance to get us into the right conversations with target clients
  • Translate those conversations into practical opportunities — shaping where we can add value, where we can differentiate, and how we move from interest to committed work

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Practice & Team Contribution

  • Help build the Consumer Goods, Retail & Lifestyle practice in a way that is visible, joined-up and commercially focused — not just through delivery, but through relationships, propositions and market presence
  • Coach and support junior colleagues so they build confidence, client judgement and strong consulting habits, not just task completion
  • Contribute to practical proposition and capability building — methods, propositions, assets and use cases/examples that teams can actually reuse with clients
  • Set the tone for how we work as a team: collaborative, commercial, high-quality and prepared to lean in where it matters

Essential

Profile & Experience Required

  • Strong consulting background across strategy, transformation or operating model work — with the judgement to move between shaping, selling and delivering
  • Clear track record of business development, with evidence of personally helping to create, shape and convert opportunities
  • Opening up opportunities through relationships and market relevance
  • Leading proposals that are client-relevant, practical and commercially strong
  • Converting positive conversations into contracted work or meaningful pipeline
  • Experience in Consumer Goods and/or Retail, ideally with enough sector credibility to have confident senior client conversations from day one
  • Able to build trusted senior client relationships, understand what matters commercially, and influence decisions without over-complicating the message
  • Comfortable operating in a hybrid growth and delivery role — happy to lead from the front, but practical enough to stay close to the work where needed

Highly Desirable

  • An existing Consumer Goods / CPG network in the UK or Europe that can create credible conversations, not just warm contacts
  • Experience selling into commercial or transformation agendas, particularly where the client need is linked to growth, margin, simplification or operating model change
  • Commercial functions, including sales, revenue growth, pricing, promotions and trade investment
  • Operating model, transformation or performance improvement programmes
  • Evidence of personally owning pipeline targets — with the confidence and discipline to move opportunities from early interest through to committed work
