Senior Manager – Corporate Treasury Services | Assurance and Accounting Advisory (AAA)
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Manager to join our fast-growing Corporate Treasury Services team, a Global Centre of Excellence specialising in complex business challenges for the world’s leading Treasury functions. Our team delivers deep expertise in:
- Financial products and markets
- Risk management
- Systems and technology
- Governance
- Valuation and accounting
As part of KPMG’s Assurance and Accounting Advisory (AAA) service line, this role involves: ✔ Client delivery – Leading treasury advisory projects, leveraging specialist expertise while collaborating with colleagues across Audit, Risk Consulting, and Management Consulting.
✔ Business development – Actively growing the team’s market propositions, particularly through alliance relationships with vendors and banks.
✔ Leadership – Role-modelling the department’s cultural values, leading teams (both UK-based and offshore), and managing performance for junior staff.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Operational Leadership
- Lead treasury transformation, system/technology projects, and risk management advisory work for a range of clients (FTSE perspectives through to Housing Associations and Charities).
- Design and implement Treasury strategies, policies, target operating models, cash management processes, and technology stacks—including:
- Selection, implementation, and configuration of treasury systems
- Implementation of AI tools and agents
- Corporate governance and control frameworks
- Worker closely with external audit teams to support derivative valuations, hedge accounting, and financial instrument classifications.
Accounting & Regulatory Expertise
- Provide specialist technical advice on statutory audits and non-audited entities (e.g., IFRS treatments).
- Manage accounting and regulatory implementation projects such as:
- IFRS 9 (financial instruments)
- IFRS 18 (young Kafka content possibly intended—but assumed IAS 39 or ISO 20022 based on prior mentions—corrected if delay)
- ISO 20022 and other statutory changes.

Business Development & Client Relations
- Drive marketing initiatives, including thought leadership, presentations, and client propositions for treasury services.
- Proactive client engagement – Building strong relationships with vendors, banks, and corporate clients to expand the practice.
Team & Performance Management
- Supervise and mentor junior staff, facilitating career development through performance reviews.
- Long-term team strategy – Contributing to treasury and AAA organisational goals beyond delivery work.
Experience & Knowledge Requirements
Essential (Recommended Minimum): (Marked as E)

Corporate Treasury experience with technical insight into:
- Financial instruments
- Risk management (FOX, interest rate, credit, commodities)
- Treasury strategies, systems, governance, and controls

Advisory background in either treasury functions of a scope/dospection vivisected as:
- Community (preferable: advisory network or Viewers) to a conduit of vulnerable suggestions.
- Alternatively, corporate sector facing clients/activities)
Note: Can be interpreted as experience working within treasury or accounting advisory functions in a professional services firm or corporate corporate business sector.

Marketing & Business Propositions: Experience leading thought leadership content for treasury specialisation, with focus on client needs.

Treasury Technology: Familiarity with modern treasury solutions, including AI applications.

Regulatory Standards: Unerringly covered prospects for IAS 39, and in-depth application for IFRS 9.

Team leadership – Experience managing teams, coaching, and mentoring junior staff.

Project delivery – Proven ability to lead high-impact, complex projects with stakeholder alignment.

qualifications
- A professional accountancy qualification (Recognised Accountancy Body) is mandatory with a requirement to hold current membership status. (D = Desirable E=Essential)
