Job Description

Data Tech & Analytics is the data analytics and insights team at OMD EMEA. We support all clients in our agency and help them apply advanced analytics to understand their consumers and how to grow their business. The DTA team consists of the below main disciplines:

  • Data Sciences: Our analytics unit where we conduct ad-hoc projects and client-focused studies.
  • Business Intelligence: A mix of product development specialists and consultants supporting both planners and clients make better data-driven decisions.
  • Data Governance and Visualisation: Visualisation, technology and data specialists solving complex data-related problems to provide clear and effective insight back to clients.

This role sits within the Data Governance and Visualisation discipline within the wider Marketing Intelligence team.

The Role

We are looking for a Data Management and Visualisations Snr Manager to join our growing Data Management and Visualisation team.

We are increasingly involved in ensuring all media activity is delivered following not only overall best practice guidelines, but also with complex and detailed processes and rules. We require an experienced candidate with a high level of understanding of the media environment to not only devise and support these processes, but to also ensure that these are being observed throughout the OMD network in EMEA and beyond.

This role would ideally be best suited to someone who has strong media experience with reporting or data management on large scale campaigns on multiple ad-servers across EMEA, and who is now looking to take that experience into a wider leadership role. There will be a focus to lead operations for necessary communication across OMD markets & partner agencies to manage data governance, quickly resolve errors and identify opportunities to evolve projects.

Comfortable with gathering requirements from internal and/or external stakeholders, develop scopes of work through to successful delivery of final visualisation and automated reporting solutions the ideal candidate will be a proactive, problem-solver who thrives on thinking outside of the box and collaborating with our team of data experts to develop innovative governance solutions. They will use a variety of tools, practices, and processes to deliver best in class data governance across our client base. You should also be comfortable with ETL processes and be familiar with cloud-based backend data architecture.

We are looking for a strong leader, with an entrepreneurial spirit, who is as comfortable in front of a client as they are mentoring and growing more junior members of the team. Having excellent communication skills with ability to showcase achievements and promote solutions to the wider agency with a positive motivational team ethic. Ideally, your career experience has been gained in media agency/marketing agency, and you are comfortable dealing with multiple stakeholders and juggling priorities.

This is an exciting role with excellent career opportunities and benefits within a high-profile team. To that end, we are looking for someone who can hit the ground running, define their work efficiently, and drive the visualisation and data performance reporting practice area within the overall team and agency.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Global, Regional, and Local ad ops & account teams to ensure that client guidelines, processes and best practice rules are being followed and relevant taxonomies devised & implemented.
  • Manage internal and external stakeholder relationships & communications.
  • Devise and promote operational best practices across digital teams and to wider agency channels.
  • Monitor existing processes to ensure ongoing improvements are made and communicated.
  • Collaborate with relevant parties (such as creative & web agencies) to drive operational efficiencies in ad-serving, reporting and analytics e.g. via automated processes, deployment of new technologies.
  • Deliver new and maintain existing media performance visualisation and reporting solutions.
  • Work with the Senior heads of Data Management & Visualisation to develop end-to-end solutions from scope development through delivery of the final product.
  • Ensure that agreed service level agreements on trafficking, tag and campaign management are being observed throughout the OMD network across major client accounts.
  • Drive ongoing improvements to the data management process.
  • Integrate new analytics tools and data sources into existing dashboards.
  • Work with account teams to translate their client briefs into tangible outputs. You will need to distill the brief down and think of an efficient way to apply what you know to get to an efficient solution to the challenge.
  • Educate local markets on best practice in taxonomy application, write documentation and training guides.
  • Contribute to the continued learning and development of the data governance discipline through skill sharing and the mentoring of junior team members.

Experience And Skills

  • Experience in media, marketing or creative agency experience in reporting or data governance.
  • An excellent theoretical and practical understanding of the entire media data ecosystem is a must.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to develop relationships across markets and agencies ensuring cooperative and collaborative spirit.
  • Solid problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and solve numerical and technical problems.
  • Ability to provide technical solutions to multi-channel tracking with an understanding of de-duplication, cross channel reporting and attribution.
  • Strong working knowledge adtech, martech and tag management platforms.
  • Experience with data integration using CRM platforms is desirable but, not essential.
  • Experience of using ETL tools such as Adverity, Alteryx, Tableau Prep, Azure or similar.
  • Intermediate level SQL skills and an understanding of data warehousing techniques.
  • Big picture thinking, with the ability to design solutions and project manage through to delivery.
  • Solid problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and solve numerical and technical problems.
  • Experience working with Datorama, Power BI or Tableau highly desirable.
  • Solid understanding of visual analytics’ best practices and proven ability to create engaging and user-friendly visualisations.
  • Ability to own a full design life cycle from specification, design wireframes, prototypes and working with developers to implement changes.
  • Experience in team management.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Comfortable presenting work to clients and to colleagues.
  • Ability to show great attention to detail and great diligence in your work.
  • Ability to explain complex concepts to clients and account teams in a way that is easy to understand.
  • Experience with Media Mix Modelling projects or data a significant plus.
