Our Reward Employment Tax team is seeking a ** Senior Manager** to expand the Permanent Advisory Services (PAS) line in London, with a strong emphasis on business development and leadership in the Yorkshire and North East of England (YNE) region.
This dynamic role will involve:
- Driving client relationships and business development in one of the UK’s most strategic regions.
- Leading complex employment tax projects with cross-border implications.
- Mentoring junior team members and scaling EY’s Employment Tax services.
- Delivering high-value solutions to clients across diverse industries.
Responsibilities

Business Development & Client Engagement
- Own employment tax business development in Yorkshire & North-East (YNE), including proposal preparation and client pitch presentations.
- Actively capture new business opportunities and expand existing client relationships.

Client Service & Technical Leadership
- Provide end-to-end employment tax compliance and advisory services across sectors.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technical, industry, business and leadership best practices, and share insights with the team.
- deliver high-profile, multi-country projects with a focus on technical excellence and client-centric strategies.
- Solve complex challenges, mitigate risks, and exceed client expectations in project delivery.

- Influence and persuade clients, partners, and internal stakeholders to secure buy-in for strategic changes.
- Persuasive communication: clearly articulate technical expertise and business impact of advice.
Requirements & Qualifications

Experience
- Proven Employment Tax expertise, gained in consulting, law firms, or multi-national corporations.
- Project management & programme management experience, with a track record of delivering high-stakes engagements.
- Strong business development acumen, able to identify, negotiate, and convert sales opportunities.

Technical Competences
- Mastery of key employment tax topics, including:
- Expenses & Benefits (PSAs, P11Ds)
- Employment Status (IR35, self-employment models)
- Payroll, RTI submissions, apprenticeship levy, and audits
- Construction Industry Scheme (CIS)
- Termination Payments and pension-related tax considerations
- National Minimum Wage compliance, HMRC interactions (SAOs, CCGs), and audit defence
- Equity plans (foundational knowledge)
- Ability to analyse technical issues, propose sustainable solutions, and gain client alignment.
- Mastery of key employment tax topics, including:

- Preferred
- Holding the ATT (Toronto) or CTA (UK) qualifications, or equivalent recognised certification.
