Senior Manager, Enterprise Technical Sales – UK & Italy
Position Overview
The Senior Manager, Enterprise Technical Sales is responsible for leading the Enterprise Technical Sales organisation across the UK & Italy Enterprise business. The role drives technical sales execution, develops a high-performing team of Account Technical Leads, and partners closely with Enterprise Sales, Customer Success, and Technical Advisory teams to accelerate customer outcomes and expansion growth.
Reporting to the Director of EMEA Enterprise Technical Sales, this role is accountable for technical sales performance across the regional portfolio, ensuring customers realise business value through Autodesk solutions while supporting forecast accuracy, pipeline progression, and technical excellence. As most of the senior stakeholders and customers are UK based with part of the portfolio in Italy, there is a preference for a UK-based candidate, although this is not mandatory.
Responsibilities
Technical Sales Leadership
- Lead the Enterprise Technical Sales team supporting Autodesk's Enterprise customers across the UK & Italy.
- Execute the regional technical sales strategy aligned to Enterprise Sales priorities and business objectives.
- Ensure consistent execution of Customer Technical Vision (CTV) development and Customer Outcome Proposals.
- Drive technical excellence throughout the customer lifecycle, helping customers realise measurable business outcomes.
- Participate in customer engagements where technical leadership is required.
- Guide technical solution strategy for complex opportunities and strategic customer initiatives.
Business Performance
- Partner with regional Sales, Customer Success, and Technical Advisory leadership to support expansion growth, technical win rates, and pipeline progression.
- Align technical engagements with forecasted opportunities, ensuring timely technical validation and effective risk management.
- Monitor technical sales performance through pipeline inspection, forecasting, and operational reviews.
- Ensure appropriate prioritisation and allocation of technical resources across strategic opportunities.

- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Account Technical Leads.
- Create a culture of accountability, continuous learning, collaboration, and customer focus.
- Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing technical sales talent.
- Establish clear performance expectations and support career development across the team.
Capability & Operational Excellence
- Drive continuous improvement in technical sales execution through coaching, enablement, and process optimisation.
- Support adoption of new technologies, AI-enabled workflows, and sales tools to improve productivity.
- Champion adoption of technical sales methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Ensure consistent use of Customer Technical Visions (CTV), Customer Outcome Plans (COP), and technical value frameworks.
- Promote sharing of best practices across the wider Enterprise Technical Sales organisation.
Success Measures
Success in this role will be measured through:
- Technical contribution to Enterprise expansion revenue.
- Technical win rate and influence on pipeline progression.
- Customer adoption and business outcomes.
- Quality of Customer Technical Visions and Customer Outcome Proposals.
- Team engagement, capability development, and retention.
- Cross-functional collaboration and operational excellence.
Minimum Qualifications
- Significant experience in Enterprise Technical Sales within Enterprise Software or SaaS.
- Previous people leadership experience managing Technical Sales, Sales, or Pre-Sales teams.
- Experience supporting complex enterprise sales cycles and customer engagements.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to connect technical solutions to business outcomes.
- Experience working within matrixed, cross-functional organisations.
- Strong coaching, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Ability to travel across the UK & Italy as business needs require.
