Summary
Reporting directly to the Chief Compliance Officer, the Senior Manager European Compliance plays a critical role in supporting Hollister’s commitment to legal and ethical conduct and compliance within the highly regulated healthcare industry. Located in the company’s commercial office in the United Kingdom with the requirement of being in the office four days a week. This role is responsible for the compliance support to the company’s business operations in the UK, Ireland, Belgium, Netherlands and the Nordics. This role is also responsible for people management of resources in Europe. The Senior Manager Compliance Europe will provide comprehensive legal regulatory advice and compliance guidance, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures and applicable codes, laws and regulations, while partnering and collaborating within Law and with various functions and business units, including Marketing, Sales, Clinical Education, HR, Operations and Quality and Regulatory.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Drive and continuously enhance the European compliance strategy to align with evolving regulations, business objectives, and industry best practices.
- Regulatory Analysis and Guidance: Monitor, analyze, and interpret EU, UK and other healthcare and Medtech code and regulations, including transparency laws, and specific reporting requirements. Advise internal stakeholders on regulatory changes and impact on business operations.
- Policy Development and Implementation: Develop, review and update compliance-related policies and procedures to address emerging risks and regulatory changes. Collaborate within Law and cross functionally to implement effective compliance controls and preventative measures. Ensure policies are accessible, understood and consistently applied across the business units.
- Audit & Investigation Management: Evaluate allegations of noncompliance and support internal investigations of suspected compliance violations as applicable. Collaborate with HR and other functions to address violations and recommend corrective actions or disciplinary measures as appropriate.
- Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Assist in compliance audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend solutions for improvement.
- Education & Training: Design and deliver compliance training, promoting awareness, understanding, ownership, and accountability of compliance obligations.
- Reporting & Metrics: Assist in the development of key metrics and prepare regular compliance reports for Chief Compliance Officer that serve to update leadership and board of directors on compliance activities, investigations and identified risks.
- Vendor & Third-Party Oversight: Work closely with business leaders and Compliance team members, be responsible for due diligence, education, and monitoring of the Company's third- party intermediaries to ensure understanding of, and compliance with, Company compliance requirements and applicable laws and regulations.
- Continuous Improvement: Monitor healthcare industry trends, enforcement actions and best practices to proactively adapt the Company’s Compliance Program.
- People Leadership and Talent Development: Lead, coach and develop team; create a culture of partnership, responsiveness and high standards.

Essential Functions Of The Role

Education & Work Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with 8-12 years of related experience
Education & Work Preferences
- Must have regulatory experience, preferably in medical device technology
- Preferably a Lawyer or Regulatory specialty
- Minimum 8-10 years’ healthcare regulatory experience, preferably in the medical device industry
- 3-5 years in-house (preferably with a global healthcare manufacturer)
- Experience managing people
- Requires proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Office-based, primarily sedentary role
- Ability to travel up to 20%
- Hybrid working, in office four days a week

- The anticipated base salary range for this position is £100,000 - £120,000 per annum, depending on experience or other legitimate business factors
