Ascent Recruitment is delighted to be exclusively partnering with a successful Financial Services SME in Manchester city centre to recruit an ACA or ACCA-qualified Senior Financial Reporting Manager.
The business offers the flexibility of a 4-day working week.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong accountant who enjoys broad ownership, leading a small team and working in a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the general ledger, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting.
- Prepare statutory financial statements and lead the year-end reporting process.
- Lead the external audit and liaise with tax advisers.
- Prepare Board packs and regulatory reporting.
- Drive continuous improvements to financial controls, reporting and finance processes.
- Manage and mentor a small team.

About you
- ACA or ACCA qualified (practice-trained preferred, although strong CIMA-qualified candidates will also be considered).
- Strong technical accounting and statutory reporting experience.
- Experience within a regulated environment.
- Previous experience in an SME or mid-market business with broad finance exposure.
- Proven experience leading, managing or mentoring a small team.
- Strong communication skills with a proactive, inquisitive approach.

Salary & Key Benefits
- £75,000-£85,000 basic salary
- Annual bonus
- 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays
- 5% employer pension contribution
- The choice of a 4 or 5-day working week
