Senior Manager, Head of Legal – BENELUX, United Kingdom & Ireland (BENLUKIE)

As Senior Manager, Head of Legal for the BENELUX, United Kingdom & Ireland (BENLUKIE) Cluster, you will lead a high-performing international legal team while partnering with senior business leaders to shape strategic decisions across multiple countries.

About the Role

This is a senior leadership opportunity within DSV's Global Legal function. You will have overall responsibility for the legal function across the BENLUKIE Cluster, leading a team of experienced legal professionals located in the United Kingdom, Belgium, and the Netherlands.

Reporting to the Senior Director, General Counsel Europe 1, you will act as a trusted advisor to business leaders and play an important role in supporting commercial growth, operational excellence, governance, and risk management across the region.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead and develop the BENLUKIE legal team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide strategic legal advice and support to commercial and operational stakeholders across multiple countries.
  • Serve as the primary legal business partner for senior stakeholders across country, cluster, regional, and global levels.
  • Oversee the drafting, review, negotiation, and management of commercial agreements with customers, suppliers, and partners.
  • Advise on transportation, logistics, commercial, contract, and corporate legal matters.
  • Provide guidance on disputes, claims, litigation, and risk resolution strategies.
  • Manage and coordinate external legal counsel where required.
  • Support engagement with regulatory, governmental, and industry stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with DSV policies, governance frameworks, and applicable legislation.
  • Drive legal reporting and governance activities across the BENLUKIE Cluster.
  • Contribute to regional and global legal initiatives, transformation programmes, and strategic projects.

What We're Looking For

You are a commercially minded legal leader who combines strong technical expertise with the ability to build trusted relationships across a complex international organisation.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Qualified lawyer status in at least one jurisdiction within the BENLUKIE Cluster.
  • 8-10+ years of post-qualification in-house legal experience within an international business environment.
  • Experience within logistics, freight forwarding, transportation, supply chain, or similarly complex multinational industries.
  • Strong expertise in transportation and logistics law, commercial law, contract law, and/or corporate law.
  • Experience working across both common law and civil law environments.
  • Proven leadership experience managing legal professionals in a multinational organisation.
  • Strong communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Sound judgement, commercial awareness, and the ability to balance legal risk with business objectives.
  • Professional-level English language skills; additional BENLUKIE languages, particularly Dutch/Flemish, would be an advantage.
