Senior Manager, Head of Test and Quality Assurance

Carnival UK is in search of a Senior Manager, Head of Test and Quality Assurance, who is crucial in supporting our technological direction and nurturing a high-performing team. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the Test and Quality Assurance practice, managing testing resources across DTO and building a strong, inclusive community of quality professionals.
  • Own the enterprise test strategy, standards and tooling framework, including test automation, environments and data management.
  • Provide independent quality assurance across delivery domains, overseeing release sign-off and escalating risks where required.
  • Own defect management and reporting, using quality trends, testing evidence and production insight to drive continuous improvement.

Positioned within our internal structure from CUK15 (entry level) to CUK1 (Brand President), this role is classified as a CUK06, offered as a full-time position, on a permanent basis. We offer hybrid work including up to two days from home.

To thrive as a Senior Manager, Head of Test and Quality Assurance, we're looking for:

  • Significant experience leading testing and quality assurance functions within a complex organisation.
  • Proven experience defining enterprise test strategies, quality standards and assurance processes across in-house and third-party technology delivery.
  • Strong knowledge of modern quality engineering, test automation, release governance and defect management.
  • Professional certification in software testing, quality assurance, Agile delivery or quality engineering practices, such as ISTQB or Agile Testing, is desirable.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
