Senior Manager, Information Governance
Location: Sheffield / London / Hybrid Working
(Expectation that you will attend an office 2 days per week)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week/flexible days and/or hours (Mon-Fri)
Salary: Up to £68,250 (Sheffield) / £81,375 (London) depending on experience

THE ROLE
Are you an experienced information governance professional looking for an opportunity to shape and strengthen information risk and data protection across a purpose-led organisation? At the British Business Bank, you will play a key role in helping us safeguard information, manage risk effectively and support responsible innovation as we deliver our mission to improve access to finance for smaller businesses across the UK.

Reporting to the Director of Data and Information Governance and Data Protection Officer, you will lead the day-to-day delivery of our Information Governance and Data Protection function. You will help establish and embed a first-line capability for information risk, controls and assurance, while providing expert advice and oversight across a diverse range of business activities, programmes and subsidiaries.
Working with colleagues from across the Bank, you will develop and operate governance frameworks, strengthen privacy and information risk controls, and translate legal and regulatory requirements into practical, proportionate solutions. You will support the management of information rights requests, data protection impact assessments, records management and incident response, while helping to build a culture where information is managed responsibly and effectively.
You will bring significant experience in information governance, data protection and/or information risk, together with strong knowledge of UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, Freedom of Information and records management. You will be comfortable working with senior stakeholders, leading and developing colleagues, and balancing strategic priorities with operational delivery. Most importantly, you will enjoy working collaboratively with others to solve complex challenges, continuously improve processes and create positive outcomes across the organisation.
