Your Role & Team in a Nutshell
As a Senior Manager, International Category Development, you will lead category leadership in the marketplace for brands like Sharpie, Yankee Candle, NUK, Breville, Spontex, Coleman, and others. Your role will involve driving sustainable retailer category growth and enhancing brand presence both in-store and online for the wide Newell Brands portfolio in selected countries in EMEA and APAC.
You will work independently and collaborate with various teams: Category Development, Category Management, Marketing, Consumer, Shopper & Market Insights, and the Sales Leadership team. Together, you will implement a Category Growth Selling Model. This model will support annual customer joint business planning and the successful selling of key Newell category growth initiatives.
We will help you achieve your goals and develop by providing regular feedback and access to online training courses.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Support strategic growth priority categories and key innovation projects in the selected countries in EMEA and APAC.
- Develop insight-driven, international category selling stories regarding assortment, shelving, display/merchandising, and promotion strategy.
- Disseminate international selling stories to cluster sales/marketing teams for customization.
- Produce actionable insights and suggest recommendations to influence business direction.
- Collaborate with Global Brand, Analytics, International Marketing, and Sales Planning to update category playbooks.
- Provide expertise, coaching, and training to sales teams on leveraging category intel.
- Connect regularly with the Global Category Development team and participate in monthly team meetings.
- Engage in monthly CSI share-out meetings to understand existing research and influence future learning plans.
- Deploy new content/stories to the category management team through monthly Category Leadership connect meetings.

What You’ll Need
Minimum:
- Proven category and shopper/consumer insights management experience in a large international company
- Understanding of retailers’ selling process
- Profound understanding of syndicated data, measures, and software (e.g. Nielsen, Circana, GfK, etc.)
- Good command of MS Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Fluent English (written & spoken)
- Willing to travel internationally 25-35% of the time
Your advantage:

- Knowledge of space management principles and software (e.g. JDA, Prospace, Spaceman, etc.)
