The Global Advertising and Brand Management (GABM) Team

The Global Advertising and Brand Management (GABM) team is responsible for creating marketplace demand and driving commerce for American Express through differentiated and innovative branding, marketing, and experiences. The Global Brand Strategy & Insights (GBSI) team sits within GABM. We are responsible for accelerating brand consideration globally by delivering robust insights, transformative brand strategies, and key capabilities for marketers across the organization.

Amex Insights is the enterprise Research Center of Excellence for American Express, combining world-class research, advanced analytics, AI-powered capabilities, and modern operating practices to deliver actionable insights that help business leaders inform strategy, make smarter and faster decisions, and create meaningful value for our customers.

Senior Manager, International Insights

The Senior Manager, International Insights leads strategic research engagements for International Card Services (ICS), partnering with business stakeholders to translate complex business questions into actionable customer insights that inform product, marketing, customer experience, innovation, and growth across international markets.

The role identifies emerging customer needs, market trends, and competitive dynamics across consumer and small business audiences, synthesizing multiple sources of insight into clear recommendations that drive action. The Senior Manager also supports International GABM with deeper market-level understanding of brand consideration and the competitive landscape to inform brand and marketing decisions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with ICS stakeholders to define business questions, shape research strategies, and deliver actionable recommendations.
  • Lead strategic research engagements across consumer and small business audiences, identifying emerging customer needs, market trends, and competitive dynamics.
  • Synthesize qualitative and quantitative research, behavioral data, and market intelligence into compelling narratives that drive action.
  • Connect insights across international markets to identify opportunities and inform product, marketing, customer experience, and growth strategies, while supporting deeper market-level understanding of brand consideration.
  • Advance AI-powered tools, emerging technologies, and innovative methodologies that enhance research, synthesis, and insight generation.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong experience in customer insights, market research, strategy, marketing, or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies and translating customer insights into actionable business recommendations.
  • Strong understanding of customer behavior and the market and cultural dynamics that shape international markets.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize customer, behavioral, competitive, and market intelligence into meaningful insights and compelling narratives.
  • Experience leveraging AI-powered tools, emerging technologies, and innovative methodologies to enhance insight generation and delivery.
  • Strong strategic thinking, communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across international and cross-functional teams.
