The Role

The global consulting firm is hiring a Senior Manager for its Wealth Management & Retail Investments team, based in London or Edinburgh. The team works with D2C and advised investment platforms, financial advice nationals and networks, vertically integrated life companies, and technology and service providers. The role involves managing client engagements independently, contributing to business development, and supporting junior colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage client engagements from scoping through to delivery, including budget and timeline management, with a dedicated internal team.
  • Develop strategies and high-quality work products for clients within agreed timeframes and budgets.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior stakeholders at client firms and across your wider network.
  • Analyse client business needs, identify key issues, and propose solutions and recommendations.
  • Provide insight across the investment platform segment, covering customer and proposition, regulatory, technology and AI, and operating model topics.
  • Monitor project progress, manage risks, and keep key stakeholders informed of outcomes.
  • Manage and motivate junior colleagues and support their professional development.
  • Stay current on retail investment and investment platform trends across D2C, advised, and workplace platforms.
  • Contribute to business development, including articulating the firm's offerings and credentials.
  • Undertake account management, including financial management and fee negotiations.

Skills & Experience

  • 7–10 years of experience delivering consulting or change projects within a financial institution, consulting firm, or investment platform.
  • Demonstrated experience leading project or programme work and engaging senior stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Significant experience working across investment platforms, financial advice, or life and pension firms.
  • Deep project experience in one or more of the following: customer and adviser proposition, platform transformation, custody and dealing, technology and AI, or M&A integration.
  • Knowledge of investment platform technology, including FNZ, Bravura, GBST, Seccl, Hubwise, SEI, or FIS.
  • Track record of managing commercial aspects of consulting engagements, including scope management and contract adherence.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to structure and articulate complex messages clearly.
  • Ability to build new client relationships and maintain existing ones, with sound commercial judgement.
  • Ability to develop and deliver proposals and pitch materials that convert business development opportunities into mandates.
  • Financial modelling and business case development skills, with the ability to translate strategic options into quantified outcomes for senior decision-makers.
  • In-depth understanding of market trends across financial advice and retail investments.
  • Business fluency in English.
  • Willingness to travel.
