This is an exciting opportunity to use your expertise and influence to help deliver high-quality, inclusive education for children and young people across East Sussex.

Role Overview

As Senior Manager: Leadership and Governance, you will provide strategic leadership for school improvement and help secure high-quality leadership and governance across East Sussex schools.

Working as part of the Education Division leadership team, you will align our strategy across the school-led system, governing bodies, council services, and external partners. You will lead work to strengthen school structures, oversee headteacher recruitment for local authority-maintained schools, and support effective intervention where governance requires improvement.

The post is responsible for Governor Services and reports to the Head of Education: Inclusion and Partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for school improvement.
  • Help secure high-quality leadership and governance across East Sussex schools.

Candidate Requirements

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience in working in a school or a Trust as a Senior Leader or Chair of Governors.
  • Understand school improvement and effective school governance.
  • Ability to build strong partnerships.
  • Passionate about inclusion and improving outcomes for children and young people.
