Salary: £85,493 - £100,580
Locations: Edinburgh, Bristol, Leeds, Halifax, Birmingham
Hours: Full-time
Working Pattern: Hybrid (minimum 40% of time in office)

About this opportunity

The Senior Manager - Motor Finance Compliance leads the provision of proactive, pragmatic, and risk-based Conduct and Compliance Risk support to the Motor Finance business. The role acts as a senior second-line partner, helping the business interpret and meet regulatory expectations while supporting good customer outcomes, effective risk management, and sustainable commercial delivery.

Working closely with senior business and control function collaborators, the role provides clear, authoritative, and commercially aware compliance advice across products, customer journeys, change activity, governance, and oversight. It supports informed risk-based decision-making, provides constructive challenge where required, attends relevant governance forums and committees, and ensures key conduct and compliance risks are identified, assessed, managed, and evidenced appropriately.

The Senior Manager also plays a key role in shaping and delivering the Compliance oversight plan for Motor Finance, using insight, management information, assurance findings, and regulatory developments to identify emerging risks, influence priorities, and drive continuous improvement in the control environment. The role includes line management responsibilities, the coaching and development of junior colleagues, and deputising for the Head of Compliance as required.

What you'll be doing:

  • Build effective relationships with Motor Finance collaborators and provide accessible, commercially aware compliance advice.
  • Support the business in applying regulatory requirements, Group policy, and risk appetite in day-to-day activity and change initiatives.
  • Provide constructive challenge on customer outcomes, product governance, complaints, vulnerable customer considerations, and other key conduct risks.
  • Attend and support relevant governance forums and committees, providing compliance input, challenge, and insight.
  • Use management information, assurance findings, and business insight to identify emerging risks and inform oversight priorities.
  • Support the development of robust governance papers, risk assessments, and evidence-based decisions.
  • Line manage, coach, and develop junior colleagues, promoting strong conduct risk awareness and a culture of good customer outcomes.
  • Deputise for the Head of Compliance where required, including in senior collaborator discussions and governance activity.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
