Senior Manager - MXDR

Description
The purpose of this role is to lead the operational delivery of the MXDR Client Engineering function in the UK, ensuring the successful implementation, support, health monitoring, optimization, and continuous improvement of MXDR technologies across client environments.
The Senior Manager is responsible for a team/function of Engineers delivering services across the MXDR technology portfolio such as but not limited to Microsoft, Splunk, CrowdStrike, Sentinel One, and Carbon Black. The role ensures operational excellence, technical quality, and consistent service delivery while driving innovation and engineering maturity.
In this role, you have responsibility over a function or team of technical specialists and potentially people leaders in this engineering function. The Senior Manager sets objectives, manages operational performance, develops engineering talent, and supports the direction of team goals by translating organizational priorities into clear, actionable objectives for their individual teams.
They are accountable for maintaining high standards of service delivery and technical excellence and will work closely with clients and peers across SOC, Project Management, Portfolio Management, and other Engineering functions during escalations, service improvements, and strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operation of the UK MXDR Engineering team responsible for the implementation, support, health monitoring, and enhancement of MXDR services across client infrastructures.
- Manage engineering capacity, prioritization, and resource allocation to ensure successful delivery of implementation projects, operational support activities, and ongoing service commitments.
- Ensure consistent and globally aligned high-quality delivery standards, processes, and ways of working across the MXDR Engineering function.
- Act as an operational escalation point for technical, service delivery, and customer-impacting issues, driving timely resolution and stakeholder communication.
- Participate in MT/ELT sessions and collaborate with SOC, Project Management, Portfolio Management, and other Engineering functions to support successful customer outcomes and service development.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, automation opportunities, and operational efficiencies that enhance service quality, scalability, and engineering effectiveness.
- Provide strong line management that drives performance, coaching, and career development support for lower-level people leaders and engineers.
- Develop and maintain engineering capability across the MXDR technology portfolio, ensuring appropriate technical expertise is available to support current and future service requirements.
- Support innovation initiatives, platform enhancements, and the adoption of new technologies that strengthen the MXDR service offering.
- Be a member of an OOH Call Rota.
- Monitor operational performance through KPIs, reporting, and governance activities, ensuring risks, trends, and improvement opportunities are proactively addressed.

Colleagues are also expected to develop cross-functional knowledge and capabilities, including undertaking training in other technologies, systems, and skills, to support business needs and continuous development.

- Strong leadership and operational management capabilities.
- Exceptional collaboration and problem-solving skills.

- Industry-recognized cybersecurity certifications relevant to the MXDR technology stack.
