Senior Manager of Global Communications

The Role

The Senior Manager of Global Communications will lead Quince's media strategy and external storytelling as the company enters its next stage of growth. This is a rare build: the sole owner of the communications function, reporting directly to the Head of Brand Strategy & Narrative, with the mandate to shape how the market understands Quince's manufacturer-to-consumer model. The ideal candidate is a proven media operator with 8+ years of experience and genuine, current UK journalist relationships — someone who can translate complex operational ideas into stories that build trust over time, not just generate coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute Quince's UK communications strategy, building brand reputation and relevance as we scale in the market
  • Own UK media relationships, building deep ties across national, consumer, fashion, lifestyle, retail, business, and tech press
  • Drive a steady stream of proactive earned media, with culturally relevant UK story angles rather than imported US messaging
  • Lead communications around key UK moments (launches, campaigns, milestones), spotting opportunities beyond the announcement itself
  • Stay plugged into UK cultural and media conversations, and act as an early-warning system for reputation risk
  • Write and edit at an exceptional standard across pitches, press materials, and executive briefings, and prepare spokespeople for UK media
  • Partner closely with Brand, Social, Growth, Merchandising, and Creative to build communications into launches from the start, and manage UK agency partners
  • Build rigorous earned-media measurement (coverage quality, sentiment, share of voice) and the systems/playbooks to scale UK comms over time

Qualifications

Required:

  • 8+ years of experience in communications, public relations or media strategy, with significant experience working in the UK market
  • Deep, current relationships across UK national, consumer, fashion, lifestyle, retail and/or business media, and a strong understanding of how the UK media ecosystem actually works
  • Experience building the reputation of a consumer brand, retailer or high-growth company; experience supporting a new market entrant or rapidly scaling brand is a plus
  • Excellent editorial judgment and a strong instinct for what constitutes a genuinely compelling UK story
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to move comfortably between consumer storytelling, corporate narratives and sensitive reputation communications
  • Strong understanding of UK culture, consumer sentiment and the nuances that distinguish UK communications from US communications
  • Experience managing PR agencies and working effectively across global and cross-functional teams
  • Ability to translate complex business models and company narratives into simple, credible and culturally relevant stories
  • Comfortable operating with significant autonomy in a fast-moving, high-growth environment
  • Highly proactive, culturally curious and naturally plugged into what people are reading, talking about and paying attention to

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
