Senior Manager - Private Client Tax, Hybrid
Salary: £75,000 - £90,000
We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager in private client tax to join our client's successful team, delivering expert tax advisory and compliance services to high net worth individuals (HNWIs).
This strategic role demands a deep command of UK personal tax legislation, with a focus on tax planning, compliance, and client relationship leadership. You will manage a portfolio of high-value private client engagements, driving tax efficiency across income tax, capital gains tax (CGT), inheritance tax (IHT), and estate planning. With a proven ability to translate complex tax regulations into clear, actionable strategies, you will be instrumental in shaping client outcomes while ensuring full compliance with HMRC and professional standards. This role offers significant leadership potential, professional growth, and the opportunity to influence business development within a trusted, client-centric practice. Your expertise will directly enhance client satisfaction, firm reputation, and long-term success in the personal tax sector.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end personal tax compliance for high net worth individuals, including annual tax return preparation, accurate tax calculations and timely HMRC submissions.
- Develop and implement tailored tax planning strategies to maximise efficiency across income tax, CGT, IHT and other relevant areas.
- Provide expert advice on complex personal tax issues, including trusts, estate planning, business ownership structures and lifetime gifts.
- Serve as the primary client contact for a high-value portfolio, building trusted, long-term relationships through proactive and strategic guidance.
- Collaborate with wealth managers, legal advisors, and accountants to deliver integrated financial and tax solutions.
- Mentor and supervise junior tax professionals, fostering technical accuracy, client service excellence and career development.
- Monitor and interpret changes in tax legislation, HMRC guidance and case law to ensure advice remains current and compliant.
- Support business development through client acquisition, proposal writing and contributing to thought leadership content.
- Uphold firm policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements, including those set by ICAEW or equivalent bodies.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
