About The Role
This senior content-led role sits within BT Business Marketing and is responsible for developing and activating BT Business' thought leadership, innovation stories and portfolio narrative. Working closely across the Product Marketing team, Brand, External Affairs, agency partners and subject matter experts, it translates the agreed BT Business narrative into compelling market-facing storytelling that communicates BT's technology leadership, innovation and value to customers. By connecting narrative, brand, product and go-to-market activity, the role helps strengthen market differentiation, improve customer engagement and deliver measurable commercial impact.
Alongside leading our thought leadership content strategy, this role also leads the delivery of product marketing for BT Business' All-IP portfolio, ensuring propositions are clearly positioned, aligned to customer needs, and successfully brought to market.
What You’ll Be Doing
Thought Leadership and Content Delivery
- Translate the agreed BT Business narrative (as defined by senior leadership) into compelling, portfolio level storytelling and “Hero Stories” that bring strategy to life for customers.
- Lead the development of high impact thought leadership content aligned to priority themes such as innovation, technology, AI, and security.
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of thought leadership themes and innovation stories aligned to business priorities and market opportunities.
- Leads best practice and standards in content and storytelling within defined strategic guardrails, driving consistency and differentiation across BT Business portfolio and ensuring effective translation of the overarching narrative into compelling, market-facing outputs.
- Work closely with Brand, External Affairs, agency partners and subject matter experts to identify, shape and amplify priority stories across channels and audiences.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Alignment
- Partner with Product, Sales, and Marketing teams to align on priorities and ensure consistent execution across channels and touchpoints.
- Support adoption and role model agreed ways of working across the team to improve efficiency and coherence in delivery.
- Partner closely with Product Marketing, Brand, External Affairs, Communications, Sales and agency partners to align priorities and deliver integrated market impact.
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and subject matter experts to identify, shape and activate stories that support strategic and commercial objectives.

All IP Product Marketing & Go to Market
- Lead delivery of product marketing for the All IP portfolio, ensuring propositions are clearly positioned, translate product strategy into go to market plans, create messaging, and content that support adoption, growth, and commercial performance.
- Deliver content strategies across the customer lifecycle, supporting engagement from awareness through to adoption and advocacy.
- Ensure consistent application of messaging frameworks across product, portfolio, and campaign activity.
Insight & Performance Optimisation
- Use customer insight, market trends, and performance data to refine messaging and improve effectiveness.
- Track and optimise content and go to market performance, ensuring activity delivers measurable business outcomes.
Capability Building & SME Leadership
- Act as a subject matter expert in product storytelling, narrative activation, and content strategy within a B2B technology context.
- Support and mentor marketing colleagues, building capability in strategic storytelling and product marketing execution.
Essential Skills / Experience
- Proven experience developing and delivering thought leadership strategies, creating compelling long-form content, hero stories, research-led narratives and executive-level storytelling.
- Ability to translate complex technology concepts into clear, customer-focused narratives, with experience supporting transformational journeys that shift market perception and strengthen brand positioning.
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment, advocacy, and adoption of strategic priorities across cross-functional teams within large, complex organisations.
Desirable Skills / Experience
- Commercially minded with a proven ability to align strategic marketing activity to business goals, driving measurable growth in pipeline, adoption and revenue.
- Data-driven with the ability to leverage customer insight, performance metrics, and market intelligence to shape strategy, optimise engagement, and deliver actionable recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Ability to establish and embed marketing frameworks, governance, and best practice ways of working that drive consistent, high-quality content delivery and operational efficiency.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor and develop senior marketing professionals, with a commitment to fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement and excellence.
- Experience within telecommunications, technology, or digital services.
- Experience working across large scale portfolio transformations.
- Familiarity with digital content performance, SEO, and multi channel activation strategies.
