Product Manager for SMART Managed Services (SMART MS) Europe

As Product Manager for SMART Managed Services (SMART MS) Europe, you will own the strategic direction, proposition, roadmap, and commercial success of an integrated managed ATM services solution for European ATM deployers. SMART MS combines Diebold Nixdorf software, shared platforms, and managed service capabilities into a coordinated operating model that simplifies ATM channel management while customers retain strategic control. The role connects market needs, product development, service delivery, operations, sales, and partners to create a scalable, compliant, and differentiated offering across Europe.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the SMART MS Europe product vision and roadmap in alignment with corporate strategy, customer needs, market developments, and the wider Banking and Branch Automation portfolio.
  • Own and evolve the European value proposition for an integrated managed ATM services offering, with a clear definition of core and optional components, customer outcomes, and competitive differentiation.
  • Translate European market requirements into product priorities including country enablement, domestic card scheme support, transaction connectivity, language and currency needs, security, resilience, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the product lifecycle and investment process from market discovery and business case development through release planning, market readiness, launch, adoption, and continuous improvement.
  • Prioritize product initiatives and investments based on customer value, strategic fit, revenue potential, scalability, risk, delivery feasibility, and return on investment.
  • Shape the target operating model for SMART MS including service boundaries, customer responsibilities, partner responsibilities, service levels, operational KPIs, governance, escalation, and lifecycle management.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment across Product, Engineering, Professional Services, Managed Services Delivery, Banking Operations, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Legal, Procurement, Security, and Compliance.
  • Ensure customer and market readiness by coordinating proposition content, sales enablement, contractual service descriptions, operational documentation, onboarding assets, pricing inputs, and launch criteria.
  • Support customer engagements and pilots by validating requirements, defining standard versus customer-specific scope, guiding solution positioning, and capturing feedback for the roadmap.
  • Develop scalable commercial models including per-device and service-based pricing principles, optional service packages, investment assumptions, and long-term customer value.
  • Support complex managed service opportunities and contracts by providing product input on scope, service commitments, performance measures, dependencies, exclusions, compliance obligations, and risk allocation.
  • Own market intelligence and competitive analysis to identify European trends, customer segments, partner developments, and changes in ATM outsourcing and managed service demand.
  • Represent SMART MS with customers, partners, and internal governance bodies and communicate strategy, roadmap, investment needs, business outcomes, and delivery status at executive and operational levels.
  • Ensure product compliance and audit readiness with particular focus on European data protection, operational resilience, payment security, financial services regulation, and country-specific requirements.
  • Drive measurable business outcomes including growth of the addressable market, customer adoption, recurring revenue, delivery standardization, reduced customization, and improved operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven product management experience in managed services, banking software, payments, ATM channel management, or another regulated technology environment.
  • Strong understanding of ATM managed services including terminal software, terminal driving, transaction processing, monitoring, service desk, security management, software deployment, and service operations.
  • Experience with European banking and payments markets and the ability to work with country-specific customer, scheme, regulatory, and operational requirements.
  • Strong business and commercial acumen with experience developing value propositions, business cases, pricing approaches, portfolio decisions, and go-to-market plans.
  • Experience designing scalable service propositions that balance standardization with controlled country and customer variation.
  • Working knowledge of outsourcing and managed service operating models including SLAs, KPIs, governance, onboarding, transition, incident and change management, and service lifecycle responsibilities.
  • Familiarity with European regulatory and security expectations such as GDPR, DORA, PCI DSS, PCI PIN, audit readiness, and third-party risk management.
  • Demonstrated cross-functional leadership in a matrix organization, with the ability to align technical, operational, commercial, and legal stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Ability to translate complex technical and operational topics into clear customer value, commercial decisions, product requirements, and executive-level communication.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic, and execution skills with a pragmatic approach to resolving ambiguity, managing dependencies, and driving decisions.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills across customer, partner, executive, and delivery audiences.
  • Business-fluent English; additional European language skills are an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel within Europe as required for customer, partner, and internal stakeholder engagements.
