About Vantage

Vantage powers, cools, protects and connects the technology of the world’s well-known hyperscalers, cloud providers and large enterprises. Developing and operating across North America, EMEA and Asia Pacific, Vantage has evolved data center design in innovative ways to deliver dramatic gains in reliability, efficiency and sustainability in flexible environments that can scale as quickly as the market demands.

Product Department

The Product team at Vantage defines and stewards our global product platform: the customer outcomes we aim to deliver, the standards and reference approaches that make delivery repeatable, and the closed-loop learning that turns each deployment into an upgrade for the next. We do this in partnership with Engineering, Delivery, Operations, Procurement, Sustainability, Sales, Site Selection, and Business Development, aligning priorities and trade-offs while preserving clear functional ownership for design execution, construction delivery, and site operations.

Position Overview

Vantage is building a repeatable, product-led approach to delivering hyperscale infrastructure and operating data centers on a global scale. We are hiring a Senior Manager, Product Performance Benchmarking to establish and evolve the product performance benchmarking capability at the heart of that approach. The benchmarking engine is the governed reference for our products across the full lifecycle, regions, and customer configurations, and will sit behind pricing, RFP responses, and executive reporting for a growing global portfolio.

It evaluates the expected schedule, cost, and sustainability of our products across design, delivery, and operations: how long they should take to build, and what they should cost to build and to run.

This is a senior individual contributor role expected to grow into team leadership for someone who combines deep benchmarking, estimating, preconstruction, and project controls experience with the commercial judgement to lead methodology, challenge conventions, and turn data into decisions. You will define what the benchmark should answer, how it is governed, how it is used in decisions, and how internal and external inputs become a durable capability.

What You Will Own

You will build the product performance intelligence capability behind Vantage’s global data center platform. This is not a reporting role. It is a chance to define how one of the fastest-scaling infrastructure companies measures cost, schedule, sustainability, lifecycle performance, and value realization across regions, product configurations, and customer requirements.

The benchmark you build will shape real decisions: how products are configured, how products translate into cost, schedule, and sustainability impacts, how trade-offs are made, where performance is improving, and where the business needs to change. You will work at the intersection of Product, Engineering, Delivery, Operations, Procurement, Sustainability, and Analytics, with visibility to senior leaders and direct influence over how Vantage becomes more repeatable, data-driven, and product-led.

What You Will Do

  • Define the governed benchmarking methodology, baseline assumptions, performance measures, and usage rules Vantage applies globally to configure, cost, schedule, approve, manage, and measure project performance across Product, Engineering, Delivery, Operations, and Sustainability.
  • Own the benchmark roadmap across platform, product, regional baselines, configurations, and future product extensions.
  • Translate Product, Procurement, Preconstruction, Project Controls, and Sustainability requirements into benchmark scope.
  • Lead consultant engagement, reviewing methodology, assumptions, confidence bands, and deliverables.
  • Own the WBS/CBS and schedule structure from a product, business-adoption, and use perspective.
  • Govern baseline, regional variant, configuration bridge, and factor-pack logic.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to incorporate market intelligence, supplier input, and realized cost factors into benchmark updates where appropriate.
  • Define target audiences, provide business interpretation, and set reporting requirements for benchmark outputs to senior stakeholders, while partnering with analytics roles on dashboard build and data automation.
  • Decide when benchmark outputs are fit for use in RFPs, ROM business cases, customer discussions, product decisions, and executive reporting.
  • Own what decisions the benchmark enables and state clearly where confidence is insufficient.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What Success Looks Like

  • A governed product performance benchmark model exists that connects capital cost, schedule, sustainability and operational cost (energy, efficiency, maintainability) into a single governed reference with explicit methodology, confidence bands, and stated limits.
  • Standardized KPIs and performance criteria are set, with the ability to reliably compare projects across approved variants, regions, and product versions from pre-construction through operations.
  • Benchmark outputs are used in real decisions — RFPs, ROM business cases, customer discussions, product trade-offs, and executive reporting — under clear fitness-for-use rules.
  • The WBS/CBS and schedule structures are adopted by Product, Procurement, Preconstruction, Project Controls, and Sustainability, and held under company change control.
  • Baseline, regional variant, configuration bridge, and factor-pack logic is coherent and current, with refresh cycles running on a disciplined cadence.
  • Benchmarking exists as a durable internal capability that gets better with data from each delivery project. Results inform enhancements to products, variants, and project delivery to continuously improve.
  • Methodology, models, and refresh are owned in-house, with external inputs from consultants, market data, and suppliers integrated deliberately rather than relied upon by default.
  • Senior stakeholders receive interpretation, not just numbers: what moved, why, and what decision it supports.

What We Are Looking For

  • Benchmarking and cost intelligence: 8–12 years in cost management, quantity surveying, preconstruction, owner’s representative, project controls, infrastructure benchmarking, or equivalent capital-project performance role. Exceptional candidates with fewer years of experience may be considered.
  • Capital project modeling: Demonstrated experience building or governing cost, schedule, or TCO models for complex capital programs, including unit rates, quantities, escalation, regional factors, configuration deltas, and confidence ranges.
  • Lifecycle performance orientation: Ability to connect capital cost, schedule, energy, operational cost, maintainability, and sustainability factors into a decision-ready view of product performance.
  • Continuous learning: Experience comparing benchmarks to actual delivery outcomes and translating variance into actionable recommendations for design, procurement, delivery, or product roadmap decisions.
  • Commercial decision support: Proven ability to use benchmarking outputs to inform RFPs, ROM business cases, customer discussions, pricing, procurement strategy, or executive trade-off decisions.
  • Governance and adoption: Experience establishing standards, methodologies, or controls that multiple functions or regions were expected to adopt.
  • Consultant and stakeholder leadership: Credibility to challenge external consultants, internal customers, and senior stakeholders on assumptions, methodology, and fitness for use.
  • Data partnership: Working knowledge of structured data, reporting requirements, dashboards, or analytics workflows, with ability to partner with data teams without needing to personally own BI engineering.
  • Communication: Ability to explain assumptions, movement, confidence levels, limits, and recommended decisions clearly to technical, commercial, and executive audiences.
