Senior Manager, SEO & GEO
Senior Manager, SEO & GEO
Search Engine Optimization & Generative Engine Optimization Parallels
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager of SEO & GEO to lead the next evolution of organic discovery at Parallels.
This strategic, hands-on leadership role demands deep SEO expertise and a forward-thinking approach to Generative Engine Optimization (GEO). You will own Parallels’ strategy across traditional search engines and AI-powered discovery platforms, ensuring visibility, qualified traffic, customer acquisition, and category authority.
While SEO remains a key growth driver, discovery is rapidly evolving into AI-powered experiences—where customers rely on tools like ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, and Copilot to inform purchasing decisions. This role will shape Parallels’ future in these dynamic spaces.
Closed collaboration with Product, Engineering, Product Marketing, Sales, Analytics, Communications, and Channel teams is essential. Given a global and asynchronous team, adaptability to remote work is required. Fluency in virtualization, developer ecosystems, Apple ecosystems, enterprise productivity, and partner routes-to-market is a strong asset.
Why This Role Matters
- Search remains vital—customers still discover, compare, and choose technology products through it.
- However, search behavior is shifting—users now rely on AI-assisted recommendations, conversational answers, and automated product comparisons.
- This means strong SEO foundations, authoritative content, structured knowledge, and trusted third-party signals are just as critical as ever, as they help AI platforms understand and recommend a brand.
This position exists to ensure Parallels excels in both proven SEO channels (driving today’s growth) and emerging GEO channels (shaping tomorrow’s discovery).
What You Will Do
Lead the Integrated SEO & GEO Strategy
- Oversee global organic discovery strategy across traditional search engines and AI platforms.
- Set roadmaps for SEO and GEO initiatives tied to qualified traffic, conversions, pipeline influence, brand authority, and AI search visibility.
- Balance near-term SEO performance with long-term GEO leadership as discovery evolves.
- Establish operational models for collaboration among SEO, GEO, Product Marketing, Content, Engineering, PR, Channel, and Analytics.
- Lead prioritization, planning, reporting, and executive communication for SEO/GEO initiatives.
Build Parallels GEO Leadership
- Define and operationalize Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) strategy.
- Optimize how Parallels products appear, are summarized, compared, and recommended in AI discovery platforms.
- Monitor Parallels’ presence across ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Copilot, and emerging tools.
- Develop strategies around entity authority, semantic relevance, structured knowledge, citation visibility, AI retrievability, and recommendation share-of-voice.
- Partner with Product Marketing and Communications to increase high-quality third-party mentions and citations.
- Lead GEO measurement frameworks where attribution remains dynamic.
- Identify how AI-driven discovery impacts customer journeys, competitive positioning, and purchase decisions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
