Meet the team!
Marketing is Preply's primary financial lever, and this Finance role sits at its core. Reporting to the Director of FP&A and partnering closely with Preply's Growth team, you'll shape the frameworks we use to determine marketing spend and evaluate return on investment. This is a senior ownership role: you'll interpret analyses from our marketing analytics teams, evaluate current trends, and translate strategic plans from Growth and Brand Marketing into near-term and long-term spend and user acquisition forecasts. You'll own the financial narrative, regularly presenting results and recommendations to senior executives, while analyzing key drivers, risks, and opportunities through comprehensive sensitivity analysis. This is a highly visible and influential role within Preply.
What you'll be doing:
- Financial modeling & forecasting
- Build and maintain models connecting marketing spend to acquisition, retention, and LTV; produce monthly and quarterly forecasts and variance narratives; run scenario and sensitivity analyses for spend changes and macro shifts.
- Incrementality & efficiency
- Partner with the marketing team to evaluate Preply's response curve, geo-lift test results, and media mix modeling. Determine where marginal spend starts to diminish in return, and quantify the paid-to-organic relationship — halo effect, cannibalization, and blended CAC.
- Investment framework & guardrails
- Establish the decision rules, ROI thresholds, and spend limits that let the Growth team move fast within clear parameters.
- Geo expansion
- Size new market opportunities, build the investment case, set the return thresholds that make a market worth entering, and track performance against strategic thesis.
- Business partnership & reporting
- Act as a trusted Finance partner to the Growth team; translate complex analysis into actionable recommendations for the VP of Growth, COO, and CFO; pressure-test the financial logic behind major marketing initiatives.
- AI workflow integration
- Use modern AI tools to accelerate analysis, research, and model development.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
