Senior Manager - Corporate Development & Strategic Finance

A major UK and international business is seeking a Senior Manager to join its Corporate Development and Strategic Finance team. This newly created role offers exposure to acquisitions, business development, strategic projects and exec-level decision making. The successful candidate will support strategic initiatives, evaluate growth opportunities, contribute to transaction activity and help deliver insights that support business decision making.

What you'll do:

  • Support the preparation of high-quality financial, strategic and corporate communications for senior leadership, Board and external stakeholders
  • Build and maintain acquisition valuation and financial models, assessing targets and investment opportunities
  • Conduct market, competitor and target-company research to inform corporate development and strategic decisions
  • Support due diligence processes and coordinate with external advisers
  • Prepare high-quality Board papers, investment cases and strategic analysis
  • Support the preparation of half-year and full-year results, including presentations, scripts, Q&A and market announcements
  • Prepare investor, analyst and Board materials and help maintain the investor website
  • Monitor external market developments and stakeholder feedback, providing insight to support strategic decision making

What you'll bring:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with 5+ years' relevant post-qualification experience
  • Strong experience within Corporate Development, M&A, Corporate Finance, Transaction Services, Deals, Strategy or a related field
  • Proven transaction experience, with strong financial modelling and valuation skills
  • A strong understanding of financial statements and the ability to interrogate the numbers, assess assumptions and identify key commercial considerations
  • The confidence and emotional intelligence to constructively challenge senior management and influence stakeholders
  • Strong commercial judgement and the ability to understand the wider business story beyond the numbers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to turn complex financial and commercial analysis into clear, compelling messages
  • The ability to conduct independent research and draw meaningful conclusions from market, competitor and company information
  • Strong organisation, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Prior experience in stakeholder communications or external reporting is not essential. We are particularly interested in speaking with qualified accountants who have a strong transaction background and are keen to broaden their experience across corporate development, strategic finance and wider business initiatives.

Headline Package:

  • £80,000-£90,000 base salary, depending on experience
