Shape the Future of Global Supply Chain Operations at Caterpillar
This is an exciting opportunity to join one of Caterpillar's manufacturing facilities at a time of continued growth and transformation. As Senior Supply Chain Manager, you will lead all supply chain activities across the Peterlee site, driving operational excellence, supplier performance and end-to-end supply chain strategy.
Working as a key member of the Business Unit Leadership Team, you will play a critical role in supporting a modern manufacturing operation that continues to invest in automation, digital technologies and advanced manufacturing processes. Leading an organisation of approximately 250 employees, you will help shape the future of the facility, develop high-performing teams and deliver improvements that enhance efficiency, resilience and customer outcomes.

Caterpillar Peterlee is the global source of Cat® Articulated Trucks, manufacturing an eight-model product range serving industries including mining, construction, quarrying and aggregates.
Our facility combines advanced manufacturing techniques, robotics, automation to deliver products that support customers worldwide. Every machine produced in Peterlee contributes to projects and operations across the globe.
What You'll Do
Strategic Leadership
- Shape and deliver the facility's supply chain strategy as a member of the Business Unit Leadership Team, ensuring alignment with regional and global priorities.
- Lead strategic sourcing, category management and S&OP activities to drive business performance.
- Deliver supply chain objectives and key enterprise performance measures through continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Supply Chain & Operational Excellence
- Lead end-to-end supply chain operations to ensure supply continuity, operational efficiency and delivery to customer demand.
- Develop supplier resilience and performance through strategic partnerships and continuous improvement.
- Drive improvements across planning, logistics and inventory management to deliver business and customer outcomes.
People Leadership
- Lead and develop a high-performing team, creating a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Build organisational capability through coaching, talent development and succession planning.
- Foster strong alignment and communication across supply chain, logistics and manufacturing teams.
Building Strong Partnerships
- Develop strategic supplier and stakeholder relationships to strengthen supply chain and value chain performance.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration across the business and global network to achieve shared objectives.
Performance & Accountability
- Drive supply chain performance by managing key operational metrics and using data-driven insights to deliver continuous improvement and business results.
What You'll Bring
Qualifications
- Degree-qualified or equivalent experience in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business or a related discipline.
Skills & Experience
- You will bring significant experience within a complex manufacturing, operations or supply chain environment, alongside the ability to lead both strategic initiatives and operational execution.
Key capabilities include:
- Strategic thinking and long-term planning experience
- Strong analytical, and critical thinking skills
- Supply chain forecasting and demand planning expertise
- Inventory management and optimisation
- Logistics and distribution management
- Manufacturing Requirements Planning (MRP)
- Supplier relationship and performance management
- Change leadership and transformation delivery
- Data-driven decision making
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
We'd Be Particularly Interested If You Have
- Experience with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- APICS CPIM and/or CSCP certification.
- Experience leading large-scale business transformation initiatives.
- Strong commercial and business acumen.
- A track record of developing innovative solutions to complex operational challenges.
- Experience establishing policies, governance frameworks and performance standards.
- Deep understanding of supply chain best practice in a manufacturing environment.

Background Experience
- Extensive leadership experience within Supply Chain and/or Operations.
- Experience in inventory management, purchasing, logistics, distribution or supplier management.
- Exposure to modern supply chain systems, digital technologies and global operations.
- Demonstrated success in delivering meaningful improvements in safety, performance and operational effectiveness.
