I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

A Little Bit About You
You’ll bring:
- Strong knowledge of the Retail Media and AdTech ecosystem, including onsite, offsite, in-store and first-party data activation.
- Experience assessing, designing, deploying and optimising media technology products or capabilities.
- Ability to evaluate technology partners and translate business requirements into clear technical delivery plans.
- Strong delivery management across integrations, dependencies, risks, testing and launch readiness.
- Experience navigating data governance, privacy, InfoSec and procurement requirements.
- Clear communication of technical topics to non-technical, retailer and senior stakeholders.
- A structured, commercially aware approach to problem-solving, prioritisation and roadmap development.
Don’t meet every single requirement? We still want to hear from you. If you believe you’d thrive in this role, your unique perspective might be just what we’re looking for.
What You’ll Be Doing
Your days will be dynamic. You might find yourself:
- Opportunity identification and product strategy: You’ll proactively identify new Retail Media and AdTech opportunities by monitoring industry developments, competitor capabilities, technology partners and SMG’s wider Media & AdTech roadmap. You’ll combine this external perspective with an understanding of Morrisons’ strategic priorities, data assets and technical environment to define opportunities with a clear customer, commercial and technical rationale.
- Technical retail media roadmap and workplan: You’ll work in partnership with the Proposition team to shape the direction and priorities of Morrisons’ retail media roadmap. You’ll own the supporting technical roadmap and workplan, defining the required capabilities, scope, sequencing, dependencies, resources and decision points. You’ll balance immediate delivery priorities with the longer-term development required to strengthen Morrisons’ Retail Media proposition.
- AdTech partner assessment and recommendation: You’ll lead the assessment of AdTech, MarTech, retail media, data, identity and measurement partners. You’ll evaluate capability fit, technical feasibility, integration requirements, data usage, scalability, operational impact and commercial potential. You’ll challenge partner proposals and develop clear, evidence-based recommendations for Morrisons and SMG.
- Technical solution design and delivery: You’ll own the technical and operational design of agreed capabilities, translating roadmap opportunities into clear requirements, solution plans and delivery routes. You’ll coordinate activity across Morrisons, SMG and external partners, managing integrations, governance, InfoSec, privacy, procurement, risks and dependencies from discovery through to launch.
- Product launch and optimisation: You’ll own launch readiness and early optimisation for newly deployed products and capabilities. You’ll ensure testing, documentation, operational processes, measurement and handover plans are in place, then use performance data and stakeholder feedback to prioritise improvements before transitioning the capability into business-as-usual ownership.
- Strategic collaboration and communication: You’ll act as the technical and product counterpart to the Proposition team from the earliest stage of roadmap development, rather than joining only once a solution has been selected. You’ll contribute to retailer workshops, commercial planning and client presentations, clearly communicating the opportunity, technical route, commercial implications, trade-offs, risks and recommended next steps.
