About the Role

As a Workday Finance Engagement Manager, you will lead and deliver Workday Finance projects, overseeing all aspects from project scoping and planning to implementation and go-live support. You will be responsible for managing project teams, budgets, and timelines, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. You will also work closely with clients to understand their business needs and develop tailored solutions. Your ability to build strong client relationships and manage stakeholder expectations will be crucial to your success in this role. You will have opportunities to contribute to the development of our Workday Finance practice, sharing your expertise and insights to enhance our service offerings. You will be working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where continuous learning and professional growth are encouraged.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end delivery accountability for large-scale Workday programmes, ensuring delivery quality, commercial performance, and client satisfaction
  • Serve as the senior client stakeholder and trusted advisor, engaging executive sponsors to shape transformation roadmaps and future-state operating models.
  • Lead executive workshops, challenge and refine business requirements, and translate strategic objectives into pragmatic Workday-enabled solutions.
  • Direct cross-functional teams across functional, technical, data, integration, reporting, and change workstreams to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Drive programme governance, risk management, financial performance, resource planning, and executive reporting.
  • Partner with alliance stakeholders and industry leaders to identify, shape, and convert pipeline opportunities into successful engagements.
  • Coach and develop consulting teams, fostering capability growth, certification achievement, and high-performance delivery cultures.
  • Contribute to practice development through thought leadership, proposition development, delivery accelerators, and asset creation.

Essentials:

  • Proven experience leading multiple End to End Workday Finance implementations.
  • Relevant industry certifications.
  • Must Have: EM/PM Certification and Core Financials.
  • Strong understanding of financial processes and best practices.
  • Excellent project management and leadership skills, with experience managing teams and budgets.
  • Exceptional communication and client management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and manage expectations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a collaborative and supportive approach.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues.

Desirables:

  • Presentation & Communication Skills (Advanced): Ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences. This goes beyond basic communication skills and emphasizes impactful storytelling.
  • Experience with Workday HCM is desirable.
  • Experience in a consulting environment is preferred.
  • A passion for continuous learning and staying up-to-date with the latest Workday Finance technologies and trends.
  • Workday Integrations: Experience with integrating Workday Finance with other enterprise systems (e.g., CRM, supply chain management, analytics platforms). This demonstrates a broader understanding of enterprise systems and how Workday fits into a holistic technology landscape.
  • Workday Reporting & Analytics: Proficiency in utilizing Workday's reporting and analytics capabilities to extract meaningful insights from data and provide valuable business intelligence to clients. This showcases the ability to translate data into actionable strategies.
  • Automated Testing Tools: Familiarity with automated testing tools used in Workday implementations. This shows a commitment to efficient and thorough testing processes.
