Senior Manufacturing Engineer
We are looking for a talented Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our CESD Plant Operations Department in Darlington, United Kingdom.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Lead the planning, design, procurement, and implementation of manufacturing equipment and system improvements that enhance operational efficiency, safety, and production performance.
- Drive manufacturing projects from concept through execution, ensuring processes meet safety requirements, business objectives, quality standards, and product specifications.
- Apply advanced manufacturing engineering principles and best practices to optimize equipment, streamline processes, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the operation.
- Utilize continuous improvement tools and methodologies to reduce waste, improve quality, increase productivity, and deliver sustainable process enhancements.
- Develop, implement, and standardize manufacturing processes, working methods, and engineering standards to improve consistency and operational excellence.
- Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing technical guidance, coaching, and support to ensure successful project delivery and capability development.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, business leaders, suppliers, and external partners to influence decisions and drive project success.
- Leverage data, performance metrics, and manufacturing insights to identify opportunities, support decision-making, and deliver measurable improvements to business outcomes.

RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify root causes, implement data-driven solutions, and drive continuous improvement within manufacturing processes.
- Experience in process improvement and manufacturing analysis, leveraging digital tools and methodologies to optimize productivity, reduce waste, improve quality, and support informed decision-making.
- Knowledge of ergonomics and workplace design, enabling you to create safe, efficient, and compliant manufacturing processes and workstations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Project and Power BI, is highly desirable, along with knowledge or experience of welding processes, which would be a significant advantage.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
- College, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience required.
- Intermediate level of relevant work experience required.
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
