Senior Manufacturing Engineer — Moog Commercial Aircraft Group Tewkesbury
Leading precision machining process development, NPI and manufacturing excellence in aerospace. Using Siemens NX, 5‑Axis/Mill‑turn expertise and APQP/PFMEA to drive quality, cost and delivery. Mentoring engineers and advancing lean/automation initiatives at our Tewkesbury site. UK-wide applicants welcome. Open to UK-wide candidates; relocation support available subject to approval.
Key Contributions
- Process Development & Optimisation
- Designed and improved precision machining processes for complex aerospace components using Siemens NX CAD/CAM; applied lean principles to improve quality, cost-efficiency and delivery performance.
- NPI & Quality Assurance
- Delivered Design for Manufacture (DfM) input during product development; led APQP activities including PFMEA, Control Plans and MSA studies; applied GD&T standards to review drawings and recommend design improvements.
- Advanced Machining
- Leveraged deep expertise in 5‑Axis Milling and Mill‑Turn operations; supported platforms including Okuma MU4000V, Mazak and DMG Mori systems; used Vericut simulation to validate toolpaths.
- Continuous Improvement
- Championed operational excellence initiatives, reducing downtime and raising process capability; applied DFSS, Zero Defects and advanced Lean methodologies.
- Leadership & Mentorship
- Guided junior engineers and technicians in tooling, fixturing and gauging design; coordinated technical support across internal teams and external suppliers.
- Manufacturing Strategy
- Contributed to strategic initiatives including automation adoption and advanced process implementation (EDM, honing, heat treatment, surface finishing).
