Senior Manufacturing Engineer

What You Will Do

As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a business-critical role in supporting manufacturing operations, driving engineering excellence, and delivering continuous improvement across the site. You will provide leadership for manufacturing engineering and maintenance activities, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable plant performance while supporting both daily operations and long-term strategic objectives. Working cross-functionally with production, quality, supply chain, and site leadership teams, you will lead capital projects, reduce operational risk, enhance manufacturing capability, and drive improvements in productivity, quality, and cost performance. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on site performance while helping shape future manufacturing strategies.

How You Will Do It

  • Lead manufacturing engineering and maintenance activities across the plant to maximise operational performance.
  • Support daily manufacturing operations by resolving technical and process-related issues.
  • Deliver capital investment projects from concept through implementation and commissioning.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reliability, and productivity.
  • Analyse operational data and identify opportunities for process optimisation and waste reduction.
  • Collaborate with site leadership teams to define and execute manufacturing strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Manage engineering risk and support business continuity planning.
  • Provide technical leadership, coaching, and guidance to engineering and operational teams.

What We Are Looking For

Required:

  • University degree in Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 6 years' experience within a manufacturing, production, or engineering environment.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing engineering principles and maintenance practices.
  • Proven experience delivering operational improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience managing capital equipment or site improvement projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and work effectively across multiple functions.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and quality requirements within a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience leading engineering teams within a plant manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other operational excellence methodologies.
  • Experience within a highly regulated or complex manufacturing environment.
  • Project management qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with maintenance management systems and asset reliability programmes.
