A really interesting Marine opportunity in London has come to market

We've been speaking with the CEO of an independent international insurance broker that is going through a pretty exciting period of growth.

  • They've got strong European roots, an established London presence and international trading relationships across Europe, London, New York and Asia.
  • What we particularly liked about the business is the approach to growth, but there being an existing European Network to tap into.

They're not simply looking to acquire the biggest books in the market or hire the biggest names. They're looking for entrepreneurial brokers who either have a decent book of business and want to build on it, or placing brokers who would like their next step into production.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

They are currently looking to add a number of Brokers/Producers, with particular interest in:

  • Marine
  • Marine Cargo
  • Marine Liability
  • Ports & Terminals

There is also a genuine international angle to the opportunity. The group already has a sizeable amount of business coming out of its European network, so there are some fairly obvious opportunities for the right producer to tap into, alongside building their own external business.

For us, the interesting part is the long-term proposition.

  • It's a business that is investing in specialist talent, building out its capabilities and has a clear focus on creating enterprise value.
  • There is also a long-term profit share/LTIP structure for the right people.

We've been recruiting in the Marine market for a long time, and I think this could suit someone who has reached the point where they want more freedom to build, rather than simply being another producer within a large corporate broker.

We are particularly keen to speak with Marine and Cargo Brokers who have an established book and are considering what their next move looks like.

If that's you, or you know someone I should be speaking to, drop me a message. Happy to keep it confidential.
