Oh, and this being a pure marine placement broker role with no expectations to bring/develop business.
I’m working with an international insurance business that has recently established a London market office and is looking for a Senior Marine Broker to join at a particularly interesting stage of its growth.
This is not a production led role. The business is already secured, so you’re not being asked to spend your time chasing a book or bringing in new clients.
Instead, you’ll take responsibility for the Lloyd’s placement of established international Marine business (predominately retail marine clients), while helping guide a small team of marine insurance professionals.
And because the London team currently consists of just a few people, there is a genuine opportunity for the right person to grow with the office and progress into a Head of Office position.

You'll be a senior in the team, leading from the front with marine placement strategies and ensuring office broking is carried out to a high standard.
What they’re looking for
- 10+ years' marine broking experience
- Strong Lloyd’s market knowledge and relationships
- Significant Hull and Machinery experience
- Ideally exposure to P&I, Marine Liability and some Marine Cargo
- Someone senior enough to operate independently from day one
- Leadership potential and the appetite to take on greater responsibility
- Open to retail or wholesale backgrounds
- Strong underwriting backgrounds with the right Hull & Machinery experience may also be considered
