About The Role

Ready to shape the analysis and insight that helps maximise the value of flexible energy assets? Do you enjoy turning complex market data into practical decisions that influence commercial performance? At EDF, Success is Personal, and this is your opportunity to make a real impact while developing your expertise in a fast-moving energy market.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Market Analyst, you’ll be pivotal in our operational mission of the battery-optimisation of our battery fleet. You’ll play a key role in supporting the optimisation and trading of battery energy storage systems and peaker assets. Through market analysis, modelling and performance insights, you’ll help maximise asset value while supporting EDF’s journey towards An Electric Britain.

Within BWS, the Short-Term Trading (STT) function is responsible for operating across power, gas and carbon markets in the period from minutes to one week ahead. The Flex Optimisation team manages EDF’s real-time trading and optimisation activities, including live dispatch and balancing of our own and third-party assets.

This is a hybrid role, with flexibility to work from home alongside regular attendance at either our London or Exeter offices, typically 2-3 days per week as required.

Who You Are

We’re looking for a Senior Market Analyst with knowledge in energy markets, trading, asset optimisation or market modelling. You’ll need experience in the battery market, with your expertise and interest in monetisation projects such as revenue optimisation, as well as analytics. You’ll be comfortable analysing complex information, improving analytical tools and working across technical and commercial teams.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
