Job Title: Senior Market and Competitive Intelligence Manager
Location: London, UK - Hybrid (50% working time at the office)
Employment Type: Full-time permanent
The Job
The Senior Market and Competitive Intelligence Manager is a strategic, high-impact individual contributor role designed to shape and elevate AVEVA’s global market, competitor, and customer intelligence capabilities. This role is critical in driving our Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy by providing actionable, data-driven insights that empower senior sales and marketing leadership.
The ideal candidate is a highly organised self-starter and a builder who thrives in a dynamic environment, possessing deep expertise in software solutions serving industrial segments (including Chemicals, Oil & Gas, MMM, Power, EPC, Marine, and Life Sciences). You will take ownership of complex intelligence projects—ranging from strategic market trends, industry analyses, and customer segmentation to deep-dive competitor analyses for competitive takeouts, account segmentation, and analysis. By managing intelligence databases, synthesising complex market data into clear, executive-ready narratives, and collaborating across global functions, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our intelligence function and directly influencing AVEVA’s commercial success and strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Competitor & Market Analysis: Conduct deep-dive competitor analyses and provide critical intelligence for marketing and sales strategy, competitive pitch preparations, and quarterly competitive compass internal presentations.
- Strategic Intelligence Leadership: Lead the development and execution of market and competitive intelligence programmes that directly inform AVEVA’s GTM strategy, yearly strategic planning, and commercial priorities.
- GTM & Sales Enablement: Drive intelligence initiatives that support global and regional campaigns, including supporting the development of global Target Account List (TAL) frameworks, customer/prospect segmentation, and cross-sell/upsell strategies.
- Executive Storytelling: Synthesise complex data from a wide array of sources into simple, highly relevant, and visually compelling reports and presentations for senior stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, and Business Area Leadership.
- Tool & Database Management: Oversee, optimise, and extract maximum value from market intelligence tools, databases, and dashboards (e.g., Internal PowerBI / IIR dashboards), ensuring data is accessible and actionable for commercial teams.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a trusted advisor to Sales Leaders, Lead Development Representatives (LDRs), Global and Regional Sales and Marketing teams, and Business Areas, translating market trends to support sales and marketing strategies.
- Function Building: Proactively identify opportunities to mature and expand the intelligence function, driving continuous improvement and angling the team's output toward proactive intelligence-based GTM enablement.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
