Job Purpose

To perform Senior Marketing analyst role implementing and communicating Trade Policy & objectives through day to day activities for AET.

Primary Job Responsibilities And Measurement

  • Act as team leader, assist and supervise Marketing analysts when and where required by Marketing manager.
  • To act as Marketing Pricing Focal Point for designated region(s) whilst demonstrating a sound awareness of the regional commodities/markets and operational infrastructure.
  • To perform regular structural review of regions performance against target levels & follow-up on any performance deviations.
  • To work with regions / teams and monitor any deviations in performance
  • Responding to rate requests in a timely fashion (within 24hrs) whilst analysing & judging business contribution in the context of current / prospected market conditions as well as Trade / region performance.
  • Completing timely and accurate tender submissions demonstrating commercial awareness & sound pricing in the process.
  • Complete regular KPI reports and follow up on any deviations.
  • Support the European Space management teams process as and when required.
  • To represent the Marketing team at internal & external meetings as & when required.
  • To be fully proficient with all Trade Management systems and perform timely and accurate review & maintenance of the same when & where required.
  • Support respective Trade Pricing Teams and Trade policies including co-ordination with Container Flow Management and SYM teams.

Scope of Role

Budget

Responsible for regional performance versus Trade targets / business plan and assist to set targets for areas of direct pricing responsibility.

People Management

Supervisory role to the Pricing team.

Breadth & range of responsibilities

Implementing pricing policy in varied markets. Executing decision making in context within the varying trade direction and market dynamics

Problems / Challenges faced

Reacting swiftly to ever changing market dynamics. Making sure due diligence is applied to all pricing actions. Judging commercial merits of customers / business. Adjusting Pricing mind-set in line with often changing trading circumstances.

Skills, Qualifications And Expertise

  • Ability to analyse data
  • Good MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
  • Experience of working to tight deadlines
  • Flexibility in approach to work.
  • Ability to prioritise workload.
  • Previous pricing / market liner shipping an advantage
  • Project Management experience is desirable

Key Relationships

  • The job holder will work closely with and support the EU Marketing Manager for all commercial operations and strategy, administrative and management tasks.
  • The job holder will work closely with, structurally assist and support EU MKTG department for commercial strategy and implementation regionally.
  • The job holder will work closely with and support HQ TRADE for commercial strategy and implementation and co-ordination with YIELD.
  • The job holder will deal directly with National Organisations and TPA’s for commercial strategy and implementation
  • The job holder may deal directly with customers to negotiate Rates and Terms and Conditions
  • Close co-ordination with Container Flow Management and SYM.
